Yet another new video game set in the universe of “The Walking Dead” is headed our way, with Survios Inc. and AMC revealing in a brand-new gameplay trailer today that their upcoming virtual reality action game, The Walking Dead Onslaught, will release September 29, 2020 on PlayStation VR, Oculus Rift, and Steam VR.

Following the game’s digital launch, there will also be PlayStation VR physical editions from Perp Games available on October 2nd (Europe) and October 13th (North America). The Walking Dead Onslaught’s PlayStation 4 version will also be compatible on the next-gen PlayStation 5.

The Walking Dead Onslaught is set shortly after the Savior War in an Alexandria devastated by the fighting, and struggling over its ideals.

Players will step into the shoes of Daryl Dixon for an intense campaign mode, as he recounts a fateful encounter with a mysterious stranger. The game’s infinitely replayable Scavenger Mode allows players to embark on supply runs as Rick, Daryl, Michonne, and Carol, where they’ll encounter overwhelming hordes of walkers and collect resources to rebuild their community, upgrade and modify iconic weapons from the show, and unlock new quests.

Survios also announced Deluxe and Survivor Editions for The Walking Dead Onslaught, as well as pre-order bonuses:

  • *Deluxe Edition: Includes Iconic Show Weapons Pack: Lucille, Rick’s Mace, The Red Machete and Tyreese’s Hammer, Alexandria Crafting Starter Kit, The Walking Dead Onslaught Mini-Soundtrack and Art Book. Additionally, purchases via the PlayStation Store will also receive a special PS4 Theme and Avatar pack.
  • Survivor Edition: Includes all in-game and Deluxe Edition content, an exclusive SteelBook®, and 1 of 5 Collectable Postcards. Visit your local retailer for additional details and availability.
  • *Pre-Order Bonuses: Offers exclusive Sheriff Rick and Hunter Daryl character skins, Gold Katana and Gold Knuckle Knife weapon skins, and a pre-purchase discount on participating platforms.

Pre-orders are available now on Oculus Home and Steam, and select retailers, with PlayStation VR pre-orders coming soon.

‘Darkest Dungeon II’ Arrives July 15 on PlayStation Consoles [Trailer]

A year after its initial release on PC, Red Hook Studios will finally be bringing Darkest Dungeon II to the PlayStation. The base game, as well as the “The Binding Blade” DLC and the Oblivion bundle which contains the base game and DLC – will be available as cross-buy across PlayStation 4 and 5 on July 15th. Pre-orders are now available.

“We have been very eager to bring Darkest Dungeon II to PlayStation players,” said Tyler Sigman, Design Director for Red Hook Studios. “The game feels great with DualSense Controller–we’ve been able to add touches like feeling the heartbeat of a hero on death’s door, or the rumble of the stagecoach’s wheels as it hits a trap. [The original] Darkest Dungeon was fortunate to find a strong community on PlayStation and we hope the same proves true with the sequel.”

As mentioned, in addition to the base game (which we reviewed here), “The Blinding Blade” DLC will also be available on PlayStation. The expansion sees players face off against The Warlord, a new roaming mini-boss to encounter on your journey to the Mountain in Darkest Dungeon II. The DLC also adds two new playable heroes in The Duelist and The Crusader, complete with a special unlock quest for the Crusader, unique trinkets, signature items and fully voiced backstories, including playable flashback encounters.

Darkest Dungeon II is available now on the Epic Games Store and Steam.
