It’s been 82 years since Orson Welles’ radio broadcast of H.G. Wells’ War of the Worlds broadcast on Halloween, and put people into a frenzy. And while that incident was a fluke and (probably) won’t ever happen again, StoryFix Media (the same folks behind the text-based horror game The Pulse) are looking to present the classic story like never before with The War of the Worlds: An Interactive Adaptation.
Available today on the Google Play Store, the game sees you take control of the classic story in a choose-your-path branching text adventure, featuring illustrations by Brazilian artist Henrique Alvim Corrêa, and an electronic score by Auto/Reflex (which you can hear on their Bandcamp page).
Did we mention that it’s free? If it’s been a while since you last read the book, or have never read it at all, then you owe it to yourself to check it out.
