‘DARQ: Complete Edition’ Heading to PS4 And Xbox One Next Month, Next-Gen And Switch in 2021
Last month, it was announced that Finnish developer Dreamloop was teaming up with Feardemic to bring Unfold Games’ DARQ to current and next-gen consoles. Well, today the teams have announced that DARQ: Complete Edition is on track to be released in December 2020 on the current generation of Xbox and PlayStation consoles and on PC, with the Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X to be receiving their version next year.
And as is the usual, anyone who purchases a copy of DARQ: Complete Edition on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 will receive the optimized next-generation version for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S consoles for free for the entirety of 2021. The next-generation versions of DARQ: Complete Edition will have full 4K graphic support, as well as higher performance specifications, and are completely separate products from the current generation versions.
Feardemic is also looking to release physical versions for all platforms toward the end of the first quarter of 2021.
That’s not all. Unfold Games has also announced a series of comic books based on DARQ. Written by the game director of DARQ, Wlad Marhulets, DARQ: Dream Journal will “reveal numerous secrets hidden in the game” and “expand upon the story of Lloyd and the DARQ Universe.” The art for the comic is being created by Kelsey Haley, known for her work for Dreamworks, Disney, Universal, and South Park Studios. Both digital and physical releases are expected in 2021.
Currently, DARQ and its DLC is available on Steam and GOG.com.
