‘Martha is Dead’ Announced For PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5; Will Launch in 2021
PlayStation owners will now get in on the anticipated fun with LKA’s psychological horror title Martha is Dead, which will now launch for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 alongside the previously-announced Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC versions in 2021.
In a press release, publisher Wired Productions’ managing director Leo Zullo stated that “it’s exciting to watch Martha is Dead take shape on both PlayStation and the Xbox family of devices. The game builds upon developer LKA’s signature style of deep, multi-layered narratives and was always intended to be a multi-platform release that raises expectations of what can be achieved by an indie studio on next-generation hardware and PC.”
LKA founder and director Luca Dalco elaborated, saying, “Martha is Dead represents a step forward for LKA. This is a game that merges the raw power of PC and next-generation consoles, and all we’ve learned from developing The Town of Light. Martha is Dead is an evolution in psychological storytelling, and we’re driven to build a compelling, gripping world full of twists and turns for players to explore in 2021.”
Martha is Dead is set in Tuscany in 1944 amid the brutality of the second World War as the conflict intensifies between the Axis and Allied powers. The body of a woman has been found, drowned and desecrated at the side of a lake. Martha is dead, and now her twin sister must deal with the fallout from her murder and the acute trauma of loss.

With Zombies Ate My Neighbors inspiring Mega Cat Studios with Lethal Wedding, how about some more? Deep Type Games is another upcoming dev taking after the LucasArts classic with their upcoming VR shooter game, Cute & Dead. Currently slated to arrive later this summer on the Meta Quest, the game is also planned to hit SteamVR later this year, and while the PlayStation VR2 isn’t planned yet, the devs aren’t ruling it out “down the road”.
Described as a fast-paced zombie shooter with collectible elements and a dating-sim twist, Cute & Dead touts fast, chaotic, and “just plain fun” combat that blends the nostalgic feeling of classics like Zombies Ate My Neighbors with VR technology. The story puts you in the shoes of a typical nerd trying to ask the hottest girl in school out on a date. Complicating things is the untimely arrival of a zombie apocalypse. That won’t stop you in your quest for love! All you need to do is find her and rescue her from hordes of the living dead.
You’ll have 30 unique girlfriends to meet and save across eight unique maps. Standing in your way are eight different enemy types, but you’ve got 10 weapon varieties at your disposal. You won’t be alone in your mission, either. You’ll have a cute dog companion who fights by your side in the fast-paced gameplay.
