The Valkyrie Predator and Custom Private Matches Come to Video Game ‘Predator: Hunting Grounds’ Today

Published

Developers Illfonic are celebrating the new year with brand new content for their multi-player game Predator: Hunting Grounds, introducing the badass Valkyrie Predator today!

And that’s not all we’re getting today…

Illfonic announces over on their official blog, “We wanted to give you exactly what you want by giving you control – Custom Private matches are in this Free Update. We also are continuing our dive into Norse lore with the newest Predator class in our Paid DLC. All of that, paired with some upgrades, and you’ll be ready to take on anything in the jungle in the new year.”

The team explains the Valkyrie Predator, “As we discovered in October, the Viking Predator can be traced back to when the Viking raiders managed to draw the attention of the Yautja. As the legends of this mighty creature spread, Norsemen saw an opportunity to gain an honorable death by way of this wanderer, so they continued to pursue glory.  Few even relished over a Yautja death, which angered the Predators, so they sent in their fiercest warrior – the Valkyrie. This newest Predator class’ sole purpose is to choose the slain worthy of a place in Valhalla. Many fought against her in search of glory, but none could best her. So beware, if you were able to bring a Viking Predator down, she is coming for you in this DLC pack.”

“Along with her cunning, this hit and run character will wreck your house. She carries with her a mighty two-handed Norse Hammer that deals crippling close-range damage. The secondary attack provides a heavy overhead swing with increased damage to any prey unfortunate enough to stand in her path. This Hammer is Predator’s interpretation of Odin’s vision for superior god-like weaponry mixed with Yautja ancestry and is available for early access with this new paid DLC. Also with this update, the Rocket Launcher is unlockable for all at level 85.”

‘Dead Island 2’ Second Expansion “SoLA” Available Now [Trailer]

Published

It’s time once again to return to Dead Island 2 with the game’s second expansion, SoLA, which is out now on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and the Epic Games Store, with the expansion coming to PC on Steam on April 22, coincidentally when the game arrives on the platform. This new expansion takes players into the ultimate Californian music festival, where a psychedelic beat unleashes chaos.

SoLA sees a deadly virus sweeping through The Valley, turning its inhabitants into ravenous zombies. Not only that, a gore-drenched music festival in LA is sounding out a rhythm from beyond: The Beat of the Autophage. Lured to the festival by an enigmatic warning message, players must explore SoLA’s ruins and put a stop to this menace before The Beat turns the living into zombies, and spreads across the world.

They’ll have their hands full, as new zombies have appeared in the form of the Whipper and the Clotter. A new apex variant enemy driven mad with self-loathing by the Autophage, the Whipper is compelled to self-mutilate, turning them into a horrific nightmare of disembowelled intestines. As a result, the Whipper is able to use these entrails to lash out at the player. Meanwhile, the Clotter has the ability to decompose into a pile of gore, making it immune from damage in that form, and then reform elsewhere to continue the fight. Not only that, but it’s also capable of firing a powerful jet of putrid blood.

To combat these new zombies (and to make use of the game’s F.L.E.S.H. system), players have new weapons at their disposal. Notable is the Ripper, which is a fusion of a baseball bat and circular saw, turning it into a percussive machine of dismemberment. And speaking of sawblades, you now have the Sawblade Launcher, which as you’d expect, fires rotary sawblades that will cut through zombies with ease.
