‘Dread X Collection: The Hunt’ Celebrates Indie Shooters; Coming This April to Steam

Published

on

Not to be outdone by the Haunted PS1 2021 Demo Disc yesterday, DreadXP have announced that their fourth edition of the Dread X Collection of indie titles is coming soon. “Soon” as in April, actually.

Entitled “The Hunt”, this collection of seven new short horror games focuses this time on “the wide weird world of indie shooters”. The games themselves will be given a 20-day development time (as opposed to last year’s 10 days), and will be slightly longer in length to allow for “more robust individual experiences”.

In total, the collection will have 8-12 hours of playtime, and consist of the following titles:

  • The ARK 2 (Nate Bernes)
  • Uktena 64 (KIRA)
  • Axis Mundi (Philip Hesselbäck)
  • Black Relic (TorpleDook)
  • Rose of Meat (Mr. Pink)
  • Seraphixial (Vidas Games, featuring Aaron Wise (TBF Games) and Abbey Smith (Scruncho))
  • The Fruit (Christopher Yabsley)
  • The House of Unrest (Dan McGrath)

There’s no Steam page at the moment for the collection, but that will change soon (obviously). If you still haven’t checked out the previous years’ collections, you can hit up Collection 1, Collection 2, and Collection 3 here on their respective Steam pages.

Co-op Shooter ‘Perish’ Arrives April 15 for Playstation and Xbox Consoles [Trailer]

It’s been a while, but publisher HandyGames and developer ITEM42 will finally be releasing their classical mythology-inspired co-op shooter Perish to consoles next month. Originally released for PC on Steam and the Epic Games Store, Perish will arrive on April 15 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and the Xbox Series. The release will also be accompanied by a limited-time 10% launch discount.

In Perish, players step into the shoes of Amyetri, a corporeal spirit condemned to the shadowy existence of Purgatory. Their mission? To end their suffering by undertaking the Rites of Orpheus and conquering the Chthonic deities blocking the path to Elysium.

As a Deprived Initiate, players start with nothing but a broken sword and must earn danake, the blood-soaked currency of the underworld, to afford better equipment and tackle the formidable Dismal Lords standing in their way. However, great reward comes with great risk, as you must remember to deposit your danake in the Pantheon, as falling to enemies means losing it all.

Luckily, you don’t have to go at it alone. Up to four players can team up in online co-op, utilizing specialized gear and gadgets to support, defend, and revive each other on the treacherous road to eternal oblivion.
