‘Resident Evil’ Crossover With ‘Dead by Daylight’ Brings Leon, Jill And Nemesis! [Trailer]

Behaviour Interactive kicked off the fifth anniversary of Dead by Daylight in a big way by finally revealing the Resident Evil crossover that was briefly hinted at during Capcom’s 25th Anniversary stream last month.

Kicking off on June 15th, the crossover will include Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine serving as the Chapter’s Survivors, with everyone’s favourite bioweapon Nemesis serving as the Killer! The new map included in the Chapter is, of course, the Raccoon City Police Department.

As Nemesis, you’ll be using the T-Virus to infect Survivors by striking them with his tentacle. First contact results in the Survivor coughing and making more noise overall, which is not a good thing when you’re trying to hide. A second hit will cause damage if the Survivor is already infected. Nemesis’ reach of his tentacle is proportionate to the number of Survivors he infects, and reaches its max length after infecting two Survivors. The increased length allows him to hit players through windows, over pallets, and more.

Nemesis isn’t the only thing you’ll have to worry about. As is typical for Resident Evil, you’ll have to deal with zombies that accompany him on whatever map he’s in. When Nemesis is the Killer, zombies will spawn around the map and attempt to attack Survivors by themselves. Much like what happens when Nemesis infects a player, a zombie infection increases Nemesis’ power, and results in the Survivor suffering status ailments. The only way to cure the infection is to find vaccines around the map. Keep in mind that they’re in short supply.

As for Jill and Leon, they have their own unique perks. Jill has a mine that can be placed on generators to explode whenever Killers try to kick the machines, while Leon has a flashbang used to disorient Killers.

Dead by Daylight is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and the Nintendo Switch.

‘El Paso, Elsewhere’ – LaKeith Stanfield Starring in Adaptation of Monster Hunting Video Game

Published

Last year’s monster hunting shooter El Paso, Elsewhere is headed to the screen, with THR reporting that LaKeith Stanfield (Haunted Mansion) will star in the live action film adaptation.

Stanfield will also produce the film alongside Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

THR notes in today’s report, “There is no writer or director, as the project is still being packaged in the hopes of finding a studio home. The package is seen as buzzy, as it is a video game adaptation, a bustling genre thanks to titles such as The Last of Us, the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and the most recent hit, Fallout.”

In the upcoming movie version of El Paso, Elsewhere, “Recovering from a toxic relationship, James Savage (LaKeith Stanfield) confronts both his inner demons and enigmatic ex-girlfriend, Janet, before she executes a world-ending ritual. James navigates her reality-bending universe of ethereal monsters while facing the truth of his own addictions and skewed sense of self-worth. James learns that the only route to love is through healing.”

Developer Strange Scaffold’s El Paso, Elsewhere was released this past September.

Aaron Boehm wrote in his 4-star review here on Bloody Disgusting, “Much like its inspiration Max Payne, and other games in Remedy’s catalog, there’s a clear vision that unites every frame of this game, making for an experience that both reignites a classic action subgenre and forges an identity all its own. Few games have a better elevator pitch than El Paso, Elsewhere, and it’s awesome to see it live up to those expectations with style and heart.”
