[Trailer] Surreal PC Adventure Title ‘Strangeland’ Available Now on Steam

Published

on

In case you missed it, Wormwood Studios’ throwback point-and-click adventure game Strangeland is out now on Steam. The surreal horror title also has a sweet 10% discount from now until June 1st, so if you’re a sucker for I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, Sanitarium, Dark Seed and other classic PC adventure horror titles, then get in on it.

The story for Strangeland has you waking up in a nightmarish carnival, only to see a woman hurl herself down a bottomless well for your sake. It only gets stranger from there, as you find clues and help from jeering ravens, an eyeless scribe, a living furnace, a mismade mermaid and more of the inhabitants of the carnival.

‘El Paso, Elsewhere’ – LaKeith Stanfield Starring in Adaptation of Monster Hunting Video Game

Published

Last year’s monster hunting shooter El Paso, Elsewhere is headed to the screen, with THR reporting that LaKeith Stanfield (Haunted Mansion) will star in the live action film adaptation.

Stanfield will also produce the film alongside Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

THR notes in today’s report, “There is no writer or director, as the project is still being packaged in the hopes of finding a studio home. The package is seen as buzzy, as it is a video game adaptation, a bustling genre thanks to titles such as The Last of Us, the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and the most recent hit, Fallout.”

In the upcoming movie version of El Paso, Elsewhere, “Recovering from a toxic relationship, James Savage (LaKeith Stanfield) confronts both his inner demons and enigmatic ex-girlfriend, Janet, before she executes a world-ending ritual. James navigates her reality-bending universe of ethereal monsters while facing the truth of his own addictions and skewed sense of self-worth. James learns that the only route to love is through healing.”

Developer Strange Scaffold’s El Paso, Elsewhere was released this past September.

Aaron Boehm wrote in his 4-star review here on Bloody Disgusting, “Much like its inspiration Max Payne, and other games in Remedy’s catalog, there’s a clear vision that unites every frame of this game, making for an experience that both reignites a classic action subgenre and forges an identity all its own. Few games have a better elevator pitch than El Paso, Elsewhere, and it’s awesome to see it live up to those expectations with style and heart.”
