New Standalone Mod ‘Resident Evil: Containment (Prologue)’ Available Today to Download

Published

on

While we have to torture ourselves until Capcom decides to give us more info on the now-in-production Resident Evil Village DLC, modder Aydan Watkins is back again to make things a little easier with a brand-new mod to the original Resident Evil. Aydan’s latest work is Resident Evil: Containment (Prologue), which is available to download now from his site.

This standalone mod (meaning you don’t need the original PC version of Resident Evil to run it) takes place after the events of the first game, only now you’re playing as a member of the cleanup crew known as Ghost assigned to, well, “clean up” after the Spencer Mansion incident. Best of all, you get everyone’s favorite Umbrella Security Service operator, Hunk, to tag along with you!

As the name implies, this is only the prologue, with Episode 1 of the mod set to be released soon. If you like what you see, you can check out Aydan’s Patreon to see his other RE mods, including his previous work, Resident Evil – Ada’s Mod.

‘Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse’ Whips up October 15 Release for PC, PS5 and Xbox [Trailer]

Konami and co-developers Evil Empire and Motion Twin have finally revealed more info on the upcoming Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, including a release date of October 15 release date for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store. The Nintendo Switch version will arrive “later in 2026.”

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse will be available in two versions: Standard and the Midnight Edition. Pre-orders are live now, sans Switch. The Midnight Edition includes:

  • A copy of the game
  • Digital Sound and Art Gallery, featuring over 100 illustrations, including concept art and sketches
  • Bonus in-game items:
    • Trevor costume
    • Sypha costume
    •  Family’s Grace (Relic)

Pre-ordering either edition will earn players an Alucard costume.

Taking place in Paris, 1499, Belmont’s Curse will see Trevor Belmont’s and his daughter, Rose Belmont (as opposed to what Sony initially “revealed”), take on Dracula’s foes.

Paris is engulfed in flames as monstrous creatures suddenly emerge from the shadows. Trevor Belmont, the hero who defeated Dracula, ventures into the burning streets with his daughter, Rose Belmont. Armed with the legendary holy whip, the Vampire Killer, they hunt down the beasts bleeding from the looming castle. Rose is soon swept up in the dark conspiracy that lurks beneath. Will she succeed in saving Paris from devastation?

In addition to the Vampire Killer, Rose will have access to the Arcana System. After defeating bosses, including the likes of Medusa, Carmilla and Joan of Arc (?!), the bosses are sealed into Rose’s tarot cards, turning them into Arcana. Players can then use the bosses’ skills to cast spells and obtain unique special actions.

Players will also be able to customize Rose’s battle style by using a variety of equipment, including weapons spanning seven distinct categories and Relics that trigger powerful effects through both offense and defense.
