‘Dark Souls’ Fan-Made Sequel “Nightfall” Releasing This December

Published

on

We told you about the fan-made sequel to Dark Souls in Nightfall back in October, which has now been announced to have a release date! Set to release a month before From Software’s next soulslike in Elden Ring, Nightfall arrives for PC on December 21, 2021, and will act as a direct sequel to Dark Souls.

Nightfall features a new story, new areas, a reworked combat system that borrows from From Software’s Bloodborne, a new world map, and new characters. Keep in mind that this “sequel” is compatible only with Dark Souls Remastered on Steam, and not the original (which is no longer available).

Thanks, PC Gamer.

Get a Taste of the Action-Packed Terror in the Demo for FPS Shooter ‘BLIGHTEN’ [Trailer]

Published

on

For those itching for some throwback first-person shooter action, Blight Software has just had a demo released for their upcoming FPS BLIGHTEN. The demo sees you and your squad selected to eliminate the last rebels in the eastern wastes, only to have your slaughtered, and you trapped in a decaying research facility. And you’re not alone.

You’ll explore every room of the facility for resources and weapons in an effort to stay alive. Luckily, you’ll have an extensive arsenal of various firearms at your disposal, from shotguns to assault rifles.

You’ll need them in order to take down the various blight-ridden mutated horrors throughout the mega structure. As one would expect, you’ll need to scrounge for parts and ammo, so make every shot count.

Similar to what players experienced in the early PlayStation classic Alien Trilogy, BLIGHTEN sports hand-drawn enemy sprites and animation in a 3D retro world, creating a unique and dynamic atmosphere while still scratching that throwback itch.

It’s all wrapped up in a dark narrative, where an unseen evil lurks in the shadows of the facility, shaping the horrors around you as you descend deeper into the facility. As you navigate this industrial nightmare, every Blightened creature slain is a grim reminder to what you’ve lost — and the things you’re fighting for.

Look for BLIGHTEN later this year on Steam.
