[Updated] Behaviour Interactive Teasing Pinhead’s Arrival in ‘Dead by Daylight’!
UPDATE: As was suspected, Hellraiser is indeed coming to Dead by Daylight. Whether it’ll actually be Pinhead has yet to be confirmed, however.
Behaviour Interactive have been teasing the next chapter for Dead by Daylight for the past week, including the addition of a new killer. Who is it, you ask? Well, if the teaser trailer is anything to go by, we could soon be in store for the arrival of a certain Cenobite.
Things started to get interesting when Behaviour posted an audio file to their Discord, which when viewed through a spectrogram, reveals the word ‘HELL’. The devs have also been posting letters to their Twitter account, which when combined, spell out ‘RAISE’.
But the most interesting piece is the new teaser, which if you know what to look for, points towards Hellraiser. The video below shows a VHS tape being played on a TV, which has the date of ‘1987’, which is the year Hellraiser was released into theatres. The scrambled image doesn’t appear to be much, but keen fans have pointed out that the image looks very similar to the red flower that was on Kirsty’s TV in the hospital prior to the arrival of the Cenobites. Not to mention the faint bell, which signaled the Cenobites’ arrival.
Of course, none of this has been confirmed, but the evidence does add up. If it’s the real deal, it would be the first time Pinhead or a Cenobite would make the leap from film to video game. Unless you count that unreleased Hellraiser NES game, or the fan-made fighter Terrordrome.
Dead by Daylight is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
Thanks to PC Gamer for the heads up.
