Fans Create ‘Undead Nightmare II’ Mod For ‘Red Dead Redemption II’

Published

on

Rockstar hasn’t exactly been making friends lately with some of its decisions, including Red Dead Redemption fans. The non-canon (but still very awesome) Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare gave fans of westerns and zombies something to cheer about when it was released back in 2010, and we’ve been waiting for something like it to show up in Red Dead Redemption II, which sadly hasn’t been getting much in terms of post-launch content.

So, leave it to the fans once again to take matters into their own hands. Created by Dick Hertz and Eki, Undead Nightmare II – Origins is a fan mod that throws in a ton of new content. Plague has struck New Austin, causing the dead to rise from their graves and wreak havoc among the already savaged lands. It’s up to you to put the dead back in the ground.

Not only have certain towns been overhauled to feature zombie hordes and civilians fighting them off, you have roaming hordes of zombies in the wilderness in search of food (which includes the small time ranchers), you also have new ambient music (perfect for the walking dead), new outfits and more. You even have an appearance by the undead John Marston!

There are a few prerequisites for this mod to get it going, but you can read up on all of that from the Nexus Mods page.

Thanks to PCGamer for the heads up.

If you haven’t yet checked out Aniplex Inc. and JOYCITY Corporation’s Resident Evil Survival Unit, the free-to-play real-time strategy game has just announced a new collaboration with another Capcom property in Monster Hunter to entice prospective players. Kicking off on July 2 and running until July 29, the limited-time collaboration will introduce Monster Hunter–inspired elements into the post-apocalyptic world of Resident Evil Survival Unit, adding large-scale monster encounters to the game’s strategic systems.

Details on the collaboration are being kept under wraps for now, but during the event, players will be able to participate in collaboration-exclusive in-game events that will earn them special rewards inspired by the Monster Hunter series. We do get a brief teaser trailer for the upcoming event, which in addition to teasing various monsters for players to battle, also promises new units for players to recruit.

Set in a parallel world inspired by the Resident Evil universe, the game features an original storyline and real-time strategic gameplay designed for mobile platforms. Players will build bases, secure resources, and battle creatures in a collapsed city. Iconic characters such as Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and Jill Valentine appear throughout the game, allowing for team formations that bring together characters from across the Resident Evil franchise, enabling unique combinations not seen in the original titles.

Resident Evil Survival Unit is available on iOS and Android devices.
