[Video] ‘Elden Ring’ Previews Reveal More Gameplay, More Info Ahead of Network Test

Published

With Elden Ring having its closed network test tomorrow, several outlets have begun showing off previews of the game. Of course, that not only means tons of new footage of the game in action, but also a few new tidbits about the From Software/George R.R. Martin collaboration.

As one might expect from the people behind Dark Souls, Elden Ring‘s enemies will hit you hard. You’ll be having to learn patterns and when to strike right from the outset, so no slouching. That’s not taking into account the massive bosses, which are not only challenging as well, but impressive to look at from several perspectives. From Software are once again showing off their creature design to the fullest extent.

As in previous titles, players will be leveling up through the use of Runes and the Sites of Grace (aka the Souls and Bonfires of Dark Souls). And as before, you’ll have to retrieve your Runes if you should die, so be smart about where you fall (if that’s at all possible).

New to From Software’s gameplay formula is a guidance system that emanates from the Sites of Grace to guide players in the vast open world. The nice thing is that From Software made it so that players have unlimited stamina outside of combat, so you’ll be able to motor your way across the map to find your next objective.

Admittedly, it’s probably more attractive to see the game in action. So here are a couple of previews from GameSpot, IGN, PlayStation Access and Game Informer to give you an idea of what to expect. Elden Ring comes home on February 25, 2022 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

Come Face to Face With the Zombie Menace in the Story Trailer for ‘Zombie Army VR’ [Watch]

While there’s no definitive release date just yet, Rebellion is teasing fans with a new story trailer for the upcoming Zombie Army VR, which is expected to arrive later this year. The new trailer gives fans and prospective players a glimpse at the Zombie Army VR story campaign, which as you might have guessed, involves occult magic, waves of zombies, and plenty of headshots.

The game’s campaign takes place alongside the events of the Zombie Army series, and sees you take to the field as one of the Deadhunters, an elite squad that is hunting down zombie war criminals. You must fight your way through undead hordes near the bombed-out city of Nuremberg to help Captain Hermann Wolff, the Deadhunter’s legendary leader, find his scattered family and fight to free Europe from the zombie apocalypse.

As you navigate the full-length story campaign either alone or with an ally, you’ll have access to an arsenal of authentic World War II weaponry, including sniper rifles, submachine guns, pistols and more. As one would expect, VR brings a new level of immersion to the action of the Zombie Army series, which will require you to “get to grips” with using your hands to aim your rifle, dual-wield your side arm with a submachine gun, master reloading drills, and tossing grenades.

Zombie Army VR is currently in development for the PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 2, 3, Pro, Oculus Rift and PC headsets via Steam.
