‘Haunting Ground’ Character Designer Joins Bokeh Studio For Unannounced Horror Title

Published

on

Bokeh Game Studio are still stocking up on talent for their as-yet-unannounced Survival Horror title. The studio announced earlier via Twitter (and new YouTube video) that they’ve brought on board former Capcom character designer Tatsuya Yoshikawa. If you’ve been keeping track, Yoshikawa’s work has been seen in the Mega Max X and Breath of Fire series, but also in the Capcom cult 2005 PlayStation 2 title, Haunting Ground.

As for the video introducing Yoshikawa, the video explores his background and his time at Capcom. Bokeh Creative Director Keiichiro Toyama talks about how he was first introduced to Yoshikawa and how he became involved in Bokeh’s project (his love of John Carpenter’s The Thing, for one). The video also talks about Yoshikawa’s challenges with bringing his 2D art to life in 3D.

Of course, we get glimpses of said 2D art for the project, which is aiming for a 2023 release date.

The wait is over for Steam users looking to stomp around Los Angeles busting zombie heads in Deep Silver and Dambuster’s Dead Island 2. The multimillion-selling follow-up to the 2011 original is now available on Steam, as well as the title’s two DLCs, including the recently-released “SoLA”. Deep Silver has marked the occasion with a new launch trailer.

In fact, Deep Silver has sweetened the deal with a 50% off sale for Dead Island 2 on Steam that’s on until April 29. That sale also applies to the title’s expansion packs and DLCs.

Just in case you missed it the first time around, Dead Island 2 centres around a deadly virus that’s spreading across Los Angeles, turning its inhabitants into ravenous zombies. The city is in quarantine and the military have retreated. Bitten, infected, but more than just immune, you learn to harness the zombie inside of you.

Known as Slayers, you (and if you choose, up to three players in co-op mode) must embark on an epic pulp journey across a plethora of well-known locations such as Beverly Hills, Venice Beach and Santa Monica to uncover the truth behind the outbreak and who or what they are turned into.

Dead Island 2 is also available on PC via the Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
