‘Weird West’ Gets Its First Community Event; Postlaunch Plans Revealed [Trailer]
It didn’t take long for developer Wolfeye Studios to reveal its postlaunch plans for Weird West, which was released a few weeks ago. The developer has revealed the first community event for the top-down RPG in the form of a plague. A zombie plague, to be exact.
The description of the time-limited event is as follows: “Reports are rolling in from across the Weird West of a plague of undead rising from the grave! Worse, a terrible sickness seems to follow in their wake. Stay sharp, travelers.”
According to the postlaunch announcement, the plague event “marks the first in a series of planned live events for the game that will soon grow to include new story events, encounters, expansions, and Journeys.” The team is also making it a priority to listen to player feedback to “enhance the overall player experience beyond bug fixing and quality-of-life improvements”.
Along with the first community event, Wolfeye also unveiled the postlaunch roadmap for Weird West, with all of the initial content being available for free. No specific dates were announced, but that’s all part of the fun.
Weird West is out for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

If you haven’t yet checked out Aniplex Inc. and JOYCITY Corporation’s Resident Evil Survival Unit, the free-to-play real-time strategy game has just announced a new collaboration with another Capcom property in Monster Hunter to entice prospective players. Kicking off on July 2 and running until July 29, the limited-time collaboration will introduce Monster Hunter–inspired elements into the post-apocalyptic world of Resident Evil Survival Unit, adding large-scale monster encounters to the game’s strategic systems.
Details on the collaboration are being kept under wraps for now, but during the event, players will be able to participate in collaboration-exclusive in-game events that will earn them special rewards inspired by the Monster Hunter series. We do get a brief teaser trailer for the upcoming event, which in addition to teasing various monsters for players to battle, also promises new units for players to recruit.
