New ‘The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me’ Trailer Reveals Disturbing Story [Watch]

Published

All the talk of Supermassive’s The Quarry and how awesome it is, and we forget about The Dark Pictures Anthology‘s upcoming entry in The Devil in Me. That’s about to change, as Bandai Namco have released a brand-new trailer for The Devil in Me, revealing its disturbing location for its unsuspecting cast.

The Devil in Me concerns the Lonnit Entertainment TV crew, who are struggling to keep afloat with their competition. Fate intervenes when they receive a pressing and mysterious phone call from a man called Granthem Du’Met, with a promise of a tour around a faithful recreation of the H. H. Holmes murder castle, an idea that Lonnit Entertainment founder Charlie Lonnit believes might just save his show.

Oscar nominee Jessie Buckley  (A24’s Men) stars as a member of this ill-fated crew that visits this strange hotel location, which quickly turns into a deadly trap made by their disturbed host Granthem Du’Met. Observed, isolated, and manipulated like rats in a maze, it soon becomes clear that the crew will have to make some impossible choices that they might live to regret, or just not live at all.

In addition to the story trailer for The Devil Me, Bandai Namco has revealed the pre-order bonus for The Devil in Me, as well as the Animatronic Collector’s Edition, which will be available exclusively in the Bandai Namco Store for players in the United States and Canada later this summer.

Pre-orders for The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me include exclusive early access to “The Curator’s Cut,” which allows players to play previously unavailable scenes with different playable characters to make new choices with different outcomes.

Meanwhile, the Animatronic Collector’s Edition includes:

  • An Animatronic bust figurine
  • An exclusive postcard and envelope
  • A Lonnit Entertainment business card
  • A trusty map of the Hotel Island
  • “The Curator’s Cut” pre-order bonus

Additionally, a new The Dark Pictures Anthology bundle will also be made available, which includes The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes, The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, an exclusive set of The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes playing cards, two exclusive collectible pins, an exclusive hotel map, and the aforementioned pre-order bonus.

Pre-orders are now available for the Standard Edition and the Animatronic Collector’s Edition. The Devil in Me is expected later this Fall for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

‘Toxic Crusaders’ – Retroware’s Side-Scrolling Beat-‘Em-Up Coming Fall 2024

Toxic Crusaders video game

Retroware surprised everyone last year with the announcement that they’re working on a throwback beat-’em-up based on the Toxic Crusaders cartoon. Grab your mop and get ready: the side-scrolling beat ’em up game is heading our way later this year.

Toxic Crusaders is now available to preorder on Steam, with the game set for Fall 2024 release. Exact date TBA.

Developer and publisher Retroware has teamed up with Troma Entertainment to bring the characters from the 1991 cartoon “Toxic Crusaders” back, for an all-new, all-action beat ’em up for one to four players.

In the game, “When the evil Dr. Killemoff attacks, only one team of hideously deformed creatures of superhuman size and strength stands between him and his plans for global pollution: the Toxic Crusaders, Earth’s last, greatest and ugliest hope for survival! Battle across seven disgusting levels rendered in vibrant pixel art as you defend Tromaville from hordes of Radiation Rangers, mutated thugs and zombie chickens. The odds might be stacked against you but with awesome powers, a winning personality, and up to four-players on your side, the Smogulan Empire’s days are numbered!

“Choose from seven playable characters, including Toxie, No-Zone, Junkyard, Major Disaster, and Headbanger – plus, for the first time, play as Toxie’s musically “gifted” girlfriend Yvonne, and the mother of all mothers, Mrs. Junko, Toxie’s mom!”

Considering this is set in Tromaville, it’s a safe bet that we’ll see more Troma characters beyond the Crusaders here.  Toxic Crusaders will also feature fully voice-acted motion comic cutscenes, featuring voice acting by TeamFourStar, industry veterans, and of course, Troma actors.

Check out the gameplay demo below for a closer look at the Toxic Crusaders in action.

Toxic Crusaders is coming soon to Xbox Series X + S, Playstation 4 + 5, Steam, Nintendo Switch, and the Epic Games Store. But you can wishlist on Steam in the meantime.
