Behaviour Interactive Reveals ‘Doom’-Styled Raiding Game ‘Meet Your Maker’ [Trailer]

Along with announcing what we’ve been waiting for since May, Behaviour Interactive also revealed a new title in Meet Your Maker, a first-person building and raiding game that sees players construct maze-like Outposts filled with traps and guards, then raid each other’s creations in an attempt to win it all.

Set for release in 2023 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, Meet Your Maker‘s post-apocalyptic setting sees players as Custodians of the Chimera, a living experiment created as a last resort to save life on Earth. On top of that, you’re battling other players for the planet’s most coveted resource and necessary component to the Chimera’s evolution: pure Genetic Material. This all involves constructing and fortifying your Outposts to extract and guard your Genmat. At the same time, you’ll have to infiltrate and outsmart other players’ Outpost creations to steal their Genmat.

Seemingly a combination of the Saw and Cube films, Meet Your Maker will have youbuilding your deathtrap maze from a huge array of customizable blocks, traps, and guards. You’ll also be able to set up and record custom patrol paths for your guards. After which, you and other players will be making a mad dash through each other’s creations, reaping the rewards from those who die, as well as learning how to strengthen your own creation from those who survive. As for that Genmat, you can use it to provide the Chimera and your five specialized Advisors to unlock and upgrade your arsenal of traps, guards, weapons, suits, and more.

‘Prove You’re Human’ Developers Talk Inspiration and More in Behind-The-Scenes Video [Watch]

Black Tabby Publishing took the opportunity at Summer Game Fest to go behind the scenes and offer a glimpse into developer sunset visitor 斜陽過客 and their work behind the upcoming first-person narrative adventure Prove You’re Human. In addition, the developers also dropped the latest trailer for the game, which has you attempting to convince an AI that it’s not human.

The video features narrative designer Pinki Li and artist Daniel Beaulieu on the creation of Mesa, the A.I. at the center of Prove You’re Human. What served as their inspiration? How did they animate the distinctive look of her face? How did they integrate the writing, animation, and programming to bring Mesa to life…all to task players with dispelling her of these illusions?

Producer and actor Nhi Do (voice of Watcher in 1000xRESIST) spotlighted her Vietnamese background as a first-generation Canadian immigrant, illuminating the intertwining influences that shape Prove You’re Human’s themes of identity, family, and environmental effects.

Prove You’re Human asks players to split in two, to handle both physical and digital duties,” says Remy Siu, Founder of sunset visitor 斜陽過客. “This duality is echoed throughout the game, but also drives our approach to development. Our team is made up of artists in all their forms: dancers, musicians, filmmakers,, and more. We explore them all as expressions of our own lived experiences to create a real human connection between our realities, and celebrate the differences bridging us together.”

Prove You’re Human is currently in development for release on Steam.
