‘Dying Light 2’ Gets a Halloween Makeover With “All Hallow’s Eve” Event [Trailer]

It just wouldn’t be Halloween for Dying Light 2 fans if there wasn’t some seasonal event going on, now would there? Thankfully, Techland have announced “All Hallow’s Eve”, the biggest in-game event since Dying Light 2 launched earlier this year.

Be prepared for a ton of fun in the City during Dying Light 2‘s All Hallow’s Eve event across all platforms from today until November 4. That includes new daily and weekly bounties, free rewards, and Global Goals uniting the entire community of survivors around the collection of Treats. That also includes the new cosmetics available to players who complete the bounties and Global Goals.

Players can obtain Treats from defeated Volatiles wearing pumpkins on their heads (a.k.a. “Pumpkintiles”) and Infected. These in turn can be traded in with a new Seasonal Agent, Baka The Unfortunate, who in return will give players potions that have some fun effects when used.

During the event, players will have the opportunity to participate in special daily and weekly bounties. Completing them will provide ranking points. By increasing their rank, players will be able to buy special Halloween-themed masks. Meanwhile, completing the new set of Global Goals focused on collecting Treats will grant you rewards such as the Jack’O Mask or Dying Laugh Charm.

Lastly, All Hallow’s Eve brings with it a special bundle called “Dying Laugh.” This set will include some wicked items—the frightening clown costume, a terrifying weapon, and a scary paraglider skin. All of these items will be available for FREE between Nov. 3 and Nov. 10, distributed via various digital storefronts for PC, Xbox and PlayStation.

And in case you missed it, Techland also dropped news back in August regarding a new DLC for Dying Light 2 in “Bloody Ties“, which will now arrive on November 10.

‘El Paso, Elsewhere’ – LaKeith Stanfield Starring in Adaptation of Monster Hunting Video Game

Last year’s monster hunting shooter El Paso, Elsewhere is headed to the screen, with THR reporting that LaKeith Stanfield (Haunted Mansion) will star in the live action film adaptation.

Stanfield will also produce the film alongside Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

THR notes in today’s report, “There is no writer or director, as the project is still being packaged in the hopes of finding a studio home. The package is seen as buzzy, as it is a video game adaptation, a bustling genre thanks to titles such as The Last of Us, the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, and the most recent hit, Fallout.”

In the upcoming movie version of El Paso, Elsewhere, “Recovering from a toxic relationship, James Savage (LaKeith Stanfield) confronts both his inner demons and enigmatic ex-girlfriend, Janet, before she executes a world-ending ritual. James navigates her reality-bending universe of ethereal monsters while facing the truth of his own addictions and skewed sense of self-worth. James learns that the only route to love is through healing.”

Developer Strange Scaffold’s El Paso, Elsewhere was released this past September.

Aaron Boehm wrote in his 4-star review here on Bloody Disgusting, “Much like its inspiration Max Payne, and other games in Remedy’s catalog, there’s a clear vision that unites every frame of this game, making for an experience that both reignites a classic action subgenre and forges an identity all its own. Few games have a better elevator pitch than El Paso, Elsewhere, and it’s awesome to see it live up to those expectations with style and heart.”
