‘Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game’ – Chiodo Brothers Tease Expanding the Movie’s Mythology

While we continue waiting for a new movie, Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game is headed our way next year, an asymmetrical multiplayer game coming from Terravision Games and Good Shepherd Entertainment for consoles and PC. The game will allow you to step inside the 1988 cult classic, and the Chiodo Bros. are on board as producers/advisers.

The brothers have been patiently waiting for decades now to dive back into the world of Killer Klowns, and the game gives them a unique opportunity to expand upon the mythology. Chatting with ComicBook.com, the Chiodo Bros. tease what that means for longtime fans.

“However, we have also unlocked our treasure chest and shared our notebooks of ideas that we have been working on for 35 years with the team,” Edward Chiodo explains. “We gave them insight into the origins of the Klown race and tease at the possibility they’ve been visiting Earth for a very long time.”

He adds, “But it became clear very early on that the gameplay wouldn’t support the narrative of our continued stories for the franchise, but it would allow us to share many of the new weapons and antics we’ve been playing around with all these years. We’re really excited to say that fans can look forward to seeing some of our ideas for fun kills that we never got to put on film and also learn more about the Klowns’ larger mythology and world.”

Edward also tells the site, “We feel the gaming world will allow us to explore more diverse and outrageous settings in the future more easily than if we were bound to more traditional TV/Movie production limitations. It will be great fun to show how Klowns messed around with the Ancient Egyptians and helped them build things or who knows…..we might finally get to go to the Klown planet and visit that insanity one day.”

Stephen Chiodo notes, “We have so many ideas for amazing new Klown kill gags that we have been toying with and we’re thrilled to say that we were able to include many in the game. However, we have some ideas that don’t quite fit the medium of games, so we have a lot that we’re saving that we could pursue in the future. There’s just so much still left to explore and new dimensions of the Klown universe that we would love to bring to life for the fans.”

“Based on the iconic ‘80s film! In the battle between Killer Klowns and citizens of Crescent Cove, team up and use your wits to harvest humans or save them from the alien invasion! You can play as the Killer Klowns as you cooperate in a team of three players, utilizing their outlandish abilities and weapons as you hunt humans. Or, you can fight back as a team of seven human citizens of Crescent Cove – pick your class, explore the city for valuable loot and weapons, avoid getting captured by Klowns, and try to survive.”

You can choose from five classes of Killer Klowns and Humans, each with their own class and abilities that you unlock by levelling up. Humans share a pool of multiple respawns per match, so communication to beat back the Klowns is key! According to the developers, upon release, you’ll be playing on a map pulled straight from the 1988 film. They also state that they have “big plans” for future seasons that will keep you updating your strategies while playing.

Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game will arrive for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Learn more over on the game’s official website.

‘Crow Country’ Adds Xbox Series Release for May 9th [Trailer]

Xbox owners feeling left out over SFB Games’ throwback Survival Horror title Crow Country coming to Steam and PlayStation? Never fear, as the developer has secured an Xbox Series release via the Microsoft Store, which will launch on May 9th as the other platforms. And to celebrate, Xbox owners also get a new trailer announcing Crow Country coming to the platform alongside the PlayStation 5 and PC.

In this brand new horror inspired by classics from the original PlayStation, Crow Country takes place in the year 1990. It’s been two years since the mysterious disappearance of Edward Crow and the abrupt closure of his theme park, the eponymous Crow Country. You are Mara Forest, and you’re searching for some answers from Crow. You’ll need to venture deep into the abandoned Crow Country theme park and uncover the secrets behind its Crow’s sudden disappearance.

Crow Country will see you immerse yourself in a richly atmospheric, deeply sinister world evocative of late 90s pre-rendered graphics. You’ll need to make every bullet count as you manage limited resources and try to survive against the creatures that stalk the eerily tranquil grounds of the amusement park.

Monsters aren’t your only problem, however. Crow Country hides many secrets behind its locked gates, requiring you to overcome the gauntlet of puzzles and challenges that stand between you and the truth. And for those who want to immerse themselves in the atmosphere without having to battle against the inhabitants of the park, there’s the “Exploration Mode”, which switches off the combat to focus entirely on solving the mystery and exploration.

Crow Country will be available for $19.99 USD. You can also check out the demo on Steam.
