New ‘Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’ World Intro Trailer Paints a Grim Picture [Trailer]

Published

on

With only days to go before the Pre Order Beta goes live, publisher Fatshark dropped a new World Intro trailer for the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. The trailer serves as an introduction to the world of Darktide, featuring the game’s antagonist, Inquisitor Brahms. We also see the fate of the guardsmen that were part of the game’s initial teaser trailer.

Similar to Fatshark’s previous Vermintide games, Darktide sees up to four players teaming up to face impossible odds against waves of enemies, this time in the 40K universe as a squad of Inquisitorial Agents investigating a potential Chaos infiltration in the Hive City of Tertium on the planet Atoma Prime. Players will be able to choose from one of four classes – Veteran, Zealot, Ogryn and Psyker – customizing them as they see fit. The plot for Darktide will evolve over time, and continue to develop on a weekly basis, following a set narrative.

Those who pre-ordered (or will pre-order) Darktide will have early access period to the Beta starting November 17th, well ahead of the game’s November 30 launch on Steam. The game will also be making its way to the Xbox Series, though a release date has yet to be determined.

After the success of Jurassic World Evolution and its sequel, you knew that Frontier Developments would be itching to return to the well again. That appears to be the case, as the developer/publisher has announced that they’ve signed a deal with Universal for a third entry.

According to the press release, the third game in the series is scheduled for release between June 1, 2025 and May 31, 2026, with the game expected to be officially announced in the coming months. If you’re wondering about the date range, that would be because Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment are currently developing a new Jurassic World film that’s slated for release on July 2, 2025.

Jurassic World Evolution remains Frontier’s best-selling game to date since its release almost six years ago.

“We are delighted to reveal that we are developing a third Jurassic World game to extend our collaborative relationship with Universal Products & Experiences for our best-selling game franchise,” states Frontier Development Chief Executive Officer Jonny Watts. “Our Jurassic World Evolution game franchise has showcased great creative and technical expertise in CMS games and the strength of our select, develop, launch, and nurture strategy in the genre. I very much look forward to providing more information on our exciting plans for the franchise in the future.”

You can grab the first two entries in the series on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
