Multiversal Survival Horror Game ‘Mirror Forge’ Arrives Next Week [Trailer]

DreadXP and developer MystiveDev have finally announced that their upcoming survival horror game, Mirror Forge, will arrive on December 6. The game will be available on Steam and itch.io for $12.99. Before Mirror Forge arrives, you can still try out the demo.

Developed by Bobby Mojsovski, and inspired by genre-favourites such as Silent Hill and Stranger Things, Mirror Forge tasks players with roaming between realities constructed by fear, madness, and machinery. Using mirrors to cross between these realms, players will experience a variety of familiar and bizarre environments — from gloomy, narrow apartments to plagued towns, ancient houses, and corrupted science facilities. Players will additionally tackle deadly puzzles and evade monstrous beings as they piece together an otherworldly mystery filled with heavy symbolism, psychological horror, and terrifying truths.

You are Thomas Jackson, a troubled man whose drunk driving two years ago resulted in his journalist girlfriend Jill’s coma and the loss of their baby. Though Jill recovered, the ordeal destroyed their relationship. Compounded by his job loss, Thomas tries to commit suicide. While therapy and medication have helped, Thomas’ past comes calling once again, resulting in him seeking solace with Jill to try and get back what was lost.

However, Jill is nowhere to be found. Thomas’ only clue: footage of her last report. Missing children, a place called Devil’s Womb Canyon, and a mysterious blue explosion.

For those visual novel fans who have devoured Slay The Princess after its recent major update, and are looking for more, can check out 2P Games and Universe Studio’s Japanese-style horror mystery visual novel, Other Side of Mist and Mountain. Available now on Steam with a 10% launch discount until April 11, the game transports you back to 2010, with you investigating the disappearance of your girlfriend five years earlier.

Other Side of Mist and Mountain centres on Shizuno Yokoyama, a young man who became a detective after the disappearance of his girlfriend Maha back in 2005. Maha had mysteriously vanished at a train station on her way to a flash mob organized by an occult forum. What’s even stranger is that the train station itself disappeared too.

Now specialized in investigating occult cases, Shizuno has never stopped searching for Maha. Suddenly some new cases bring clues that might get him closer to an answer — but as his investigation deepens, so does the web of mysteries.

Players will solve puzzles and investigate clues to advance through a story that blends elements of horror, mystery, deduction, and folk tales. Your choices matter, as depending on the decisions you make along the way, they will trigger different storylines. As you explore the world around you and engaging in dialogues with a variety of characters, you’ll need to pay attention to every little detail in each scene in order to solve the mystery of Maha’s disappearance.
