‘The Callisto Protocol’ Receiving First Post-game Content This February

Published

on

So, with Striking Distance Studios’ The Callisto Protocol now out in the wild (read Thomas’ review here), one of the qualms about the game for some is its lack of post-game content. Namely, where’s the New Game+? Even Dead Space had that. Luckily, the developers have the answer, which includes six months of content starting in the new year.

Kicking off on February 7, players will be getting a free update for The Callisto Protocol that includes post-game content in the form of Hardcore Mode and New Game+. Not only that, the first of the Season Pass content will drop with the Outer Way Skin Collection.

Following that, the Season Pass content will continue to trickle out, with the Contagion Bundle launching in March 2023 (which also includes an increased difficulty and permadeath), followed by the Riot Bundle later that Spring, which includes a wave-based Horde Mode. Both bundles will also feature new death animations that will no doubt please those folks looking to exact more punishment on poor Jacob.

Finally, the first story-based content for the game is expected in Summer 2023. Striking Distance Studios hasn’t elaborated on just what this new story content will be, other than it inviting the player to “[d]ig deeper into the horrifying secrets of The Callisto Protocol“.

The Callisto Protocol is out now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.

Given its content, it’d be apropos for GPTRACK50 to release its zombie action-adventure RPG Stupid Never Dies around Halloween, wouldn’t it? That’s exactly what we’re getting, as the game will launch October 21 for PC via Steam and PlayStation 5. The announcement was accompanied by a short trailer featuring Phoenix Zaza Hotfeathers, a cosmic custodian who bears more than a passing resemblance to MC Hammer, busting a move.

As if that wasn’t enough to get you excited for the apocalypse, players can get an early listen to Stupid Never Dies‘ soundtrack with the release of two tracks—the official theme songs for the game—on August 4. The tracks will be available to stream via Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify, and other major music streaming platforms. In the meantime, you can check them out below via YouTube.

In the aftermath of the Great War, humanity teeters on the brink of extinction and monsters rule the land. At the bottom rung of this society is Davy, a lowly zombie scraping by in a deserted shopping mall. One day, he discovers the human girl Julia frozen to death in a freezer…and falls in love at first sight. Motivated by his newfound crush, Davy finds his purpose in undeath: to bring Julia back to life, then to ask her out.
