Lovecraftian Co-op Action Game ‘Eresys’ Comes to Steam April 20 [Trailer]

Lovecraft fans wishing for an online co-op action game, get excited. Dragonis Games has announced the impending release of Eresys, a 4-player co-op game inspired by Lovecraft’s work that’s set for release on Steam on April 20.

The story for Eresys goes that an expelled cultist has unleashed a Void Portal on an isolated island, leading to the death of the inhabitants and himself. You and your fellow cultists need to send the entity back from where it came from and seal the portal. You’ll need to claim the sources that are needed to complete the offer of the altars and complete the final ritual in order to send the entity back and seal the portal before it’s too late.

It’s obviously not as simple as it sounds. Teamwork is essential in Eresys in order to not only complete the mission, but survive. You’ll need to collect the missing pages of the Necronomicon, as well as collect vials and gather blood from corpses to make offerings at altars. The altars reward players with blood spheres needed to complete the final ritual. There are also items to collect that may be cursed, causing unexpected events.

You’ll be faced with unspeakable horrors on your mission, including the main entity and other minions that serve their own purposes. You’ll need to utilize your lanterns in order to burn enemies and protect your group, but beware of your lantern’s oil level.

Luckily, fighting them isn’t the only option, as you’ll be able to use stealth mechanics to avoid detection and bypass foes. If, one of you does die, their teammates can pick up the dead player’s head and place it on a wax figure to bring them back. Topping things off are the multiple endings in Eresys that are based on player choices and actions.

Come Face to Face With the Zombie Menace in the Story Trailer for ‘Zombie Army VR’ [Watch]

While there’s no definitive release date just yet, Rebellion is teasing fans with a new story trailer for the upcoming Zombie Army VR, which is expected to arrive later this year. The new trailer gives fans and prospective players a glimpse at the Zombie Army VR story campaign, which as you might have guessed, involves occult magic, waves of zombies, and plenty of headshots.

The game’s campaign takes place alongside the events of the Zombie Army series, and sees you take to the field as one of the Deadhunters, an elite squad that is hunting down zombie war criminals. You must fight your way through undead hordes near the bombed-out city of Nuremberg to help Captain Hermann Wolff, the Deadhunter’s legendary leader, find his scattered family and fight to free Europe from the zombie apocalypse.

As you navigate the full-length story campaign either alone or with an ally, you’ll have access to an arsenal of authentic World War II weaponry, including sniper rifles, submachine guns, pistols and more. As one would expect, VR brings a new level of immersion to the action of the Zombie Army series, which will require you to “get to grips” with using your hands to aim your rifle, dual-wield your side arm with a submachine gun, master reloading drills, and tossing grenades.

Zombie Army VR is currently in development for the PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 2, 3, Pro, Oculus Rift and PC headsets via Steam.
