First Character Trailer for ‘Redfall’ Introduces Layla and Her Telekinetic Abilities [Watch]

Published

It’s a little under a month to go before Arkane unleashes their co-op shooter Redfall, which seems like the opportune time to delve into the first character that players will have the option to play as in the game. IGN has first dibs with a new character trailer introducing players to Layla, a biomedical engineering student who interned at the Aevum research facility in Redfall.

The backstory for Layla sees her being in Redfall right from the start before it all went south. Fortunately for Layla, thanks to Aevum, she ended up receiving intense telekinetic abilities. Unfortunately for her ex-boyfriend, he ends up being turned into a vampire in the ensuing mess.

Luckily, all is not lost. In addition to Layla’s psychic abilities that include being able to block projectiles with her umbrella and giving friends and foe a lift (literally) to launch them in the air. According to IGN, Arkane confirmed that each Redfall character has their own form of movement benefit, though it may not be obvious at first.

Finally, Layla’s Ultimate Ability is to “call in a favour” from her ex-boyfriend Jason to take care of business by unleashing devastating damage on surrounding enemies.

Redfall is set to release on May 2 for Xbox Series and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store.
