‘Vampire Survivors’-inspired ‘Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood’ Available Today in Early Access on Steam [Trailer]

Published

With Renfield on the way from director Chris McKay (The Tomorrow War, LEGO Batman Movie), what better way to do a tie-in than a video game? That’s exactly what Skybound Games and developer Mega Cat Studios are doing with the Vampire Survivors-esque Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood on Steam.

Available now in Early Access, Renfield: Bring Your Own Blood is inspired by the film (obviously), and has Dracula tasking you with a simple job – do everything he wants you to do for the rest of his immortal life. This single-player adventure combines “the simplicity of one-touch gameplay with frenetic, room-based action” not unlike poncle’s hit game. You’ll be fighting waves of enemies throughout New Orleans, dying, and resurrecting while you obliterate dozens of foes and multiple bosses.

As you level up, you’ll be able to equip yourself with dozens of upgradable weapons and pest-powered skills to become Dracula’s very best (and only) employee. The plan while in Early Access is to continually add more gear and challenges “over the next several months”. That’s in addition to the new levels, enemies, victims, playable characters and unlockables.

Renfield starring Nicholas Hoult and Nicolas Cage as the titular Renfield and Dracula respectively, alongside Awkwafina, arrives in theatres on April 14. Check out Meagan’s review in case you’re still undecided.
