‘Shadowman: Darque Legacy’ Announced for Next-Gen Systems and PC [Trailer]

Fans of the Shadowman series of comics are getting another shot at a video game crossover with Shadowman: Darque Legacy. Developer Blowfish Studios has revealed the game will be headed to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

In this new “brand-new, out-of-continuity” entry for the series, players will take on the role of novice Shadowman Jack Boniface to defend humanity against the terrors of the Deadside. As a conspiracy threatens to overrun the realm of the living, Shadowman must contend with horrifying inhuman entities. Follow a dark path from the land of the living to the hellish realm of the Deadside as you cross the veil between both, each with their own twisted challenges.

Shadowman: Darque Legacy will feature an “RPG-lite” progression system, along with plenty of melee combat.

Just in case you’re not familiar with the Valiant Comics hero, Shadowman is a lineage of voodoo warriors who protect the world of the living (known as Liveside) from threats crossing over from Deadside. The series’ first entry into video games was 1999’s Shadow Man for the Nintendo 64, PlayStation and Sega Dreamcast. That entry was subsequently remastered by Nightdive Studios back in 2021 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. That was followed by 2002’s Shadow Man: 2econd Coming for the PlayStation 2.

Survios Announces VR Title ‘Alien: Rogue Incursion’, Coming This Year [Trailer]

Remember back in 2022 when developer Survios had announced that they were teaming up with 20th Century Games to develop a new Alien title? Well seeing as it’s Alien Day, Survios has announced their brand-new VR title, Alien: Rogue Incursion. Coming “Holiday 2024” to the PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, and Quest 3, Rogue Incursion will feature an original story that “fully surrounds players within the terrors of the Alien universe”.

Details on the game are light at the moment, but the official site describes the upcoming title as being “designed by Alien fans for Alien fans”, with Survios aiming to craft a “technically advanced, and frightfully immersive Alien virtual reality game.”

Seeing as Alien: Isolation never got official VR support when it was released, this is obviously a welcome announcement. In the meantime, if you’re keen to experience an Alien game in VR, you can always check out the fan-made mod for Alien: Isolation by Nibre_, which allows both the Steam and Epic Games Store version of Alien: Isolation to be played using the Oculus.

And speaking of Alien: Isolation, as you might expect, it’s got a hefty 80% discount going on at the moment on Steam until May 1. So if you still haven’t grabbed it after all these years, this is as good a time as any.
