Grasshopper Manufacture Reveals Remaster of ‘Shadows of the Damned, More Details Coming Next Week [Teaser]
While Grasshopper Manufacture isn’t involved with the upcoming remake of Lollipop Chainsaw, they are quite involved with the newly-announced remaster of Shadows of the Damned. The remaster was teased as part of the announcement last night that the developer would be having its showcase next week as part of Summer Game Fest.
Scheduled to air on June 15 at 12am ET, the Grasshopper Direct special 25th anniversary program will include details on Shadows of the Damned: Remastered, a remaster of the 2011 action-adventure title that was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. On the creative side, the game saw Grasshopper’s Goichi Suda (aka Suda51) teaming up with Resident Evil director Shinji Mikami.
Published by Electronic Arts, Shadows of the Damned centred on Garcia Hotspur, a motorcycle-riding demon hunter who has to rescue his girlfriend Paula, who has been kidnapped by the Lord of Demons. It’s unclear at this time whether EA still owns the rights to the game. No platforms have been announced as of yet for the remaster.

‘System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary’ Now Available on the Nintendo Switch 2; Free Upgrade Available
Nightdive Studios has given Nintendo Switch 2 fans some love when it comes to System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary. Previously released for the original Switch, players can now grab the Switch 2 version from the Nintendo eShop. Or, if you already own the Switch version, you can grab the Switch 2 version as a free upgrade! There’s even a 40% discount on now until June 23.
Initially launching for PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble Store on last June, System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster eventually made it to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch the next month. The Switch 2 version of the game offers enhanced resolution, higher fram rate, and support for mouse control.
Set 42 years after the events of the first game, it’s the year 2114.
