‘Slender: The Arrival’ Website Adds Countdown, Teaser Trailer [Video]

Published

on

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 10 years since Slender: The Arrival landed for PCs and consoles. Now, it appears that Blue Isle Studios’ jump scare machine is getting ready to go again later this summer.

A new update to the official site for Slender: The Arrival has brought us a countdown timer, which currently stands at 34 days. That would put the countdown at July 27th for a reveal of, well, something. Adding to the mystery is a new 14-second teaser, which you can see below. The teaser is appropriately cryptic, since Slenderman is nowhere to be found. Instead, we get a rather sickly individual at the base of the stairs who doesn’t move. Creepy.

As for just what the reveal will be is anyone’s guess. Is Blue Isle planning a new entry in the series, or a remake that gives the 2013 game a fresh coat of paint? The latter might be the case, given that the teaser is up on Slender: The Arrival‘s Steam page. But until we get to July 27th, it’s speculation time.

A re-imagining and expansion of the original game created by Mark Hadley, Slender: The Arrival starts out with you helping your childhood friend sell her house, but soon turns into her disappearance. During your search for Kate, you’ll have to avoid the ire of Slender Man, who can only be seen through video cameras.

Survios Announces VR Title ‘Alien: Rogue Incursion’, Coming This Year [Trailer]

Remember back in 2022 when developer Survios had announced that they were teaming up with 20th Century Games to develop a new Alien title? Well seeing as it’s Alien Day, Survios has announced their brand-new VR title, Alien: Rogue Incursion. Coming “Holiday 2024” to the PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, and Quest 3, Rogue Incursion will feature an original story that “fully surrounds players within the terrors of the Alien universe”.

Details on the game are light at the moment, but the official site describes the upcoming title as being “designed by Alien fans for Alien fans”, with Survios aiming to craft a “technically advanced, and frightfully immersive Alien virtual reality game.”

Seeing as Alien: Isolation never got official VR support when it was released, this is obviously a welcome announcement. In the meantime, if you’re keen to experience an Alien game in VR, you can always check out the fan-made mod for Alien: Isolation by Nibre_, which allows both the Steam and Epic Games Store version of Alien: Isolation to be played using the Oculus.

And speaking of Alien: Isolation, as you might expect, it’s got a hefty 80% discount going on at the moment on Steam until May 1. So if you still haven’t grabbed it after all these years, this is as good a time as any.
