‘Oxenfree’ Enjoys Hefty Discount Ahead of ‘Oxenfree II: Lost Signals’ Release [Video]
For the finality of their tapes series, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals developer Night School Studio is taking it back to where it all started. And, just in case you’ve never experienced the original game, now would be a perfect time to re-visit and explore Oxenfree.
For those who have yet to dive into Oxenfree’s supernatural adventure, Night School has made the game available to purchase for a hefty 80% off on PC via Steam, the Nintendo Switch, and 75% off on PlayStation 4 for a limited time. The game is also available for Netflix subscribers as part of their subscription via the Netflix app on the Google Play Store or App Store on compatible devices.
As for Tape 6, entitled “Looping back to Oxenfree”, the developers dive into the not-so-linear timeline of the game, while also looking back on the original game.
In Oxenfree, players take on the role of Alex, a rebellious teenager who brings her new stepbrother Jonas to an overnight party on Edwards Island, an abandoned military island. The night takes a terrifying turn when the group of friends unwittingly opens a ghostly rift spawned from the island’s cryptic past. Players will have to determine every aspect of Alex’s story while exploring Edwards Island, maneuvering strange events, eccentric peers, ominous creatures and more in order to save their souls and close the rift that was accidentally created.
Meanwhile, Oxenfree II: Lost Signals follows the story of Riley Poverly, an environmental researcher who returns to her hometown Camena to investigate unnaturally occurring radio frequency signals causing disturbances in electronic equipment. She soon discovers a long history of ghostly happenings on the nearby Edwards Island and becomes entangled in a frightening, supernatural mystery.
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals arrives July 12 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, the Nintendo Switch, and on Netflix’s games service.
