‘Scorn’ Comes to the PlayStation 5 This October; Physical Deluxe Edition Pre-orders Now Available [Trailer]

Announced back in June to be coming to PlayStation 5, Ebb Software’s Scorn will join the already-stuffed October lineup of games vying for player attention. The first-person atmospheric title will launch on October 3, with an exclusive physical Deluxe Edition available for both the PS5 and Xbox Series.

According to Ebb Software game director Ljubomir Peklar, the developers have taken full advantage of the DualSense capabilities available on the PlayStation 5 to heighten the level of immersion of Scorn. “From the haptic feedback of the controller which varies depending on the in-game sound and intensity of the situation to the adaptive triggers which make every tool and weapon feel unique. The introduction of these features take Scorn‘s horrors to a whole new level, gripping players in an entirely fresh way.”

As for that physical Deluxe Edition of Scorn, it will be available courtesy of Maximum Games. Pre-orders are now available via Amazon, and includes a limited edition SteelBook, official digital soundtrack, and a 192-page digital artbook.

Inspired by the visuals of H.R. Giger and Zdzisław Beksiński, Scorn invites players into a macabre hellscape. Left with no assistance, players must learn to deal with the horrors that call this dilapidated world their home by using their arsenal of biomechanical weapons to scrape through unscathed. Tasked with navigating a desolate and interconnected bio-labyrinth, the only way for players to make it through is by learning the rules of this nightmarish place and manipulating the cruel machinery left there. By piecing together these secrets and using the organic tools available to you, surviving this world may just be possible.

Scorn is currently available on the Xbox Series, the PC via Steam, and the Epic Games Store.

Survios Announces VR Title ‘Alien: Rogue Incursion’, Coming This Year [Trailer]

Remember back in 2022 when developer Survios had announced that they were teaming up with 20th Century Games to develop a new Alien title? Well seeing as it’s Alien Day, Survios has announced their brand-new VR title, Alien: Rogue Incursion. Coming “Holiday 2024” to the PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, and Quest 3, Rogue Incursion will feature an original story that “fully surrounds players within the terrors of the Alien universe”.

Details on the game are light at the moment, but the official site describes the upcoming title as being “designed by Alien fans for Alien fans”, with Survios aiming to craft a “technically advanced, and frightfully immersive Alien virtual reality game.”

Seeing as Alien: Isolation never got official VR support when it was released, this is obviously a welcome announcement. In the meantime, if you’re keen to experience an Alien game in VR, you can always check out the fan-made mod for Alien: Isolation by Nibre_, which allows both the Steam and Epic Games Store version of Alien: Isolation to be played using the Oculus.

And speaking of Alien: Isolation, as you might expect, it’s got a hefty 80% discount going on at the moment on Steam until May 1. So if you still haven’t grabbed it after all these years, this is as good a time as any.
