Hellish Tower Defense Game ‘Heretic’s Fork’ Now Available on Steam [Trailer]

Published

on

Judgement Day is here for those looking to grab 9FingerGames’ Heretic’s Fork, which is now available on Steam with a 15% discount for a limited time. Accompanying the release is a brand-new launch trailer, which gives you a brief look at the frenetic action that’s in store for you as you manage the rift between Hell and Earth.

For those not in the know, in Heretic’s Fork, players are tasked with navigating through the bureaucracy of Hell as the newly appointed Hell’s Manager. That involves punishing sinners using the state-of-the-art computer system, the eponymous Heretic’s Fork, by building defense towers to hold back the swarms. Seeing as you have to manage all the circles of Hell, you’ll have to hire demonic subordinates to manage things.

Mixing up the game mechanics is the game’s deck building mechanics, which further fortifies your towers and gives you new weapons. You’ll be using these cards to add new sections to your tower, create demonic garrison units, trigger holy, unholy and hellfire effects, and much more. Successful runs unlock more cards, which you can then purchase from the money you’ve earned from the number of heretics you’ve culled.

Adding to the immersive atmosphere of Heretic’s Fork is the hauntingly dark music created by Occams Laser, Gates of Chaos and Metalhonic. 9Fingergames and publisher Ravenage Games are planning to add some more music to the game soon as a free update. And for you audiophiles, all 29 of Occams Laser’s tracks for Heretic’s Fork are also available for purchase as a Soundtrack DLC on Steam.

Upcoming “Willy Wonka Meets BioShock” FPS ‘Twisted Tower’ Launches on August 18 [Trailer]

Published

on

After dropping a demo last year for their upcoming “BioShock Meets Disneyland” horror title Twisted Tower, developer Atmos Games has announced an August 18th release date for the game, complete with a brand new trailer. While the demo is no longer available, you can, however sign up for the Playtest from the official Steam page.

Blast your way through an abandoned 1950s theme park, the eponymous Twisted Tower, crawling with fairy-tale mascots, twisted puzzles, and deadly traps. Uncover the dark secrets of your past as you race to the top to win the prize and the love of your life. It’s been decades since there’s been a single guest, but the park’s silly mascots will certainly be ready to accommodate you with expert fashion. They’ve been cooped up for years, so they may be looking for a hug.

Choose from dozens of unique paths up the cozy halls of the park castle as you explore its five areas. Sporting “punchy, bloody gunplay”, you can upgrade a slew of deadly weapons ranging from a whack-a-mole mallet to a skull-poppin’ ray gun, and gain new abilities as you climb your way up the tower to win a heaping pile of money and the hand of your childhood sweetheart, Charlotte.
