Latest ‘DREDGE’ Update Adds Paint Customization, New Crustaceans and More [Trailer]

Published

on

DREDGE fans have a new free update today that introduces the ability for players to customize the paint of their craft, as well as beef up their bestiary as they scour the depths for new ‘craberrations’. Players can visit a new character known as The Painter in Little Marrow in order to spruce up their boat before heading out for more Lovecraftian catches.

After choosing a flag for their vessel and a new lick of paint, players can also set sail to search the seas for additional items to spruce up their trawler while hunting for 13 new crustaceans, whose capture will unlock even more paint customization options. And if you find that you don’t care for the flag you’ve initially chosen, you can always scavenge wrecks for new flags.

The new paint options join the already free updates to DREDGE, more recently being July’s Passive and Photo modes. Still to come is the game’s first paid post-launch DLC, which is still scheduled for Q4 2023, and introduces the mysterious Ironhaven Corporation.

And if you still haven’t taken the plunge (no pun intended) with DREDGE, you can pick the game up now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch. If you need further convincing, check out Harrison’s review of the game.

Learn the Rules of the Game in New ‘SAW: Genesis’ Overview Video [Watch]

Published

on

After the surprise reveal of SAW: Genesis at Summer Game Fest, Bloober Team has followed up the reveal with a new video giving an overview of the features available to players in the upcoming asymmetrical multiplayer title.

Co-developed by Broken Mirror Games and Anshar Studios, the game is set in the grim aftermath of World War I, where you play on either side of a 3v1 confrontation in intense matches that take place on procedurally generated maps. The game is built for short, intense matches where no two trials play out the same.

Players can either step into the role of the Judge, an early architect of Jigsaw’s philosophy, manipulating the trial and its prisoners from behind the scenes. Or, they can play as one of three Accused looking to escape the deadly labyrinth through teamwork and sacrifice. Shaped by their experiences in The Great War, the Judge is dedicated to rehabilitating humanity through pain and sacrifice.

Your goal as the Judge is to rehabilitate the Accused, making them choose between life and limb rather than killing them. Live or die. They make their choice.

Customize your approach with perks and traps, then seek to control the match from the shadows. Unlike other asymmetrical multiplayer games, the Judge is physically vulnerable and cannot overpower the Accused through sheer force alone.

SAW: Genesis is currently in development for release into Steam Early Access.
