‘Deceit 2’ Halloween Update Adds New Cosmetics, New Warden Feature

Published

on

World Makers’ Deceit 2 is getting a Halloween makeover for its first post-launch event. Starting today until Monday, November 6, players can complete tasks to earn candy and redeem limited-edition cosmetic skins. According to the developers, the Halloween update serves as “the first step” in improving Deceit 2‘s gameplay experience and ensuring the game is accessible to more people.

“While our Halloween event might look sweet on the outside, the Game Master never shies away from the true intent of his Ritual of Deceit,” said James Thompson, CEO, World Makers. “While our launch was not what we originally envisioned, we’re focused on providing quality-of-life improvements and addressing feedback to provide the best gameplay experience for our community. Players will start to see these changes in our first post-launch event, which pays tribute to All Hallows Eve and the terrors that lurk in the shadows.”

The Deceit 2 Halloween update allows Innocents and Terrors alike to complete tasks to earn candy and redeem for themed cosmetics in the Emporium. The new skins include:

  • Awaken Terror skin – the first Terror skin for Deceit 2
  • Masquerade skins from the original Deceit. As a bonus, those who earned the skins in Deceit will have them available for free in Deceit 2
  • New costumed skins for the characters introduced in Deceit 2:
    • Soul Buster Priya
    • Cultist Jak
    • Friday 13th Beck

The update adds more than just skins. The game introduces the new Warden role, which allows the selected Human to banish any player. However, the new role comes with a wicked twist: if a fellow Human is banished, then the Warden will be eliminated, too.

Deceit 2 is available now on Steam, with PlayStation and Xbox versions coming in late Fall 2023 with crossplay support. Players can sign up for the official Deceit 2 mailing list at www.deceit.gg to stay in the loop for future game updates, including the upcoming DLC featuring the Wyrtorn terror.

Upcoming “Unholy Alliance” Update for ‘Cult of the Lamb’ Adds Local Co-op and More [Teaser]

Published

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
