‘Alan Wake II’ Receiving Two Post-launch Expansions in 2024

Published

With Remedy’s Alan Wake II at long last arriving today for fans, the developer has further teased what’s next for the horror writer. After dropping hints of post-launch content alongside the launch trailer, Remedy has confirmed that Alan Wake II will received two expansions.

Per IGN, Remedy will release two expansions in 2024 for Alan Wake II, with the first expansion, called “Night Springs”, is estimated to be coming out in late Spring 2024. Here’s the premise for “Night Springs”:

“Visions and dreams. Fiction is written and coming true. Fiction collapses and remains just words on a page. These are those stories… in Night Springs. Play as several familiar characters from the world of Alan Wake and experience the unexplainable in multiple self-contained episodes of Night Springs, a fictional TV-show set in the world of Alan Wake.”

After that comes “The Lakehouse,” which does not have a release window as of yet.

“The Lake House is a mysterious facility situated on the shores of Cauldron Lake set up by an independent government organization to conduct secret research… until something goes wrong. Explore the Lake House and embark on two separate adventures as the realities of Saga Anderson and Alan Wake collide again.”

And as mentioned yesterday, Remedy will also be bringing a New Game+ mode to Alan Wake II, though when that drops is yet again still to be determined.

Alan Wake II is out now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via the Epic Games Store. And check out Reyna’s review here.

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
