Genvid is set to launch Silent Hill: Ascension later tonight, and to get fans up to speed on what to expect, they’ve released a new details on the series and an “Essentials” video, courtesy of Gematsu. That new info also includes details on an optional time-limited Silent Hill: Ascension Founder’s Pack.

Prior to the premiere, Genvid will stream a pre-show event, hosted by Greg Miller and Kinda Funny where fans can gather together and chat with series creators. The Premiere Pre-Show starts at 4:30 p.m. PT / 7:30 p.m. ET, and is available via the Silent Hill: Ascension app, the official Ascension website, as well as Kinda Funny’s YouTube and Twitch channels.

If you haven’t already, you can install the app for Silent Hill: Ascension and sign-up for a free account. And while the series itself kicks off at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET, the first decision for fans is already available, which will impact the outcome of the first scenes in the live stream. The app is available from the App Store and Google Play.

For those who need a refresher on how Silent Hill: Ascension will work, you can watch “The Essentials” video below, explaining how the audiences make daily decisions and impact the story through puzzles and other elements. Choices are available at a minimum of 24 hours, so that every fan, regardless of timezone, can participate each day without needing to be there live.

Speaking of which, the first decision centres on the Hernandez family and the Johansen family, who were introduced a few weeks back. Players can come back every day to participate in additional decisions, which will ultimately determine which characters survive to the end of the story.

While Silent Hill: Ascension is a free experience, players can customize how they appear to the community in chat, leaderboards and special cameos inside the show itself. This is where the Founder’s Pack comes in. Available until November 14, this  includes exclusive profile customization such as a Founder’s icon, Founder’s frame, and exclusive themed frame, emoji, and sticker.

The Founder’s Pack also includes a Season Pass, allowing fans to unlock over 100 tiers of rewards and what’s referred to as “Influence Points”, which will give greater weight to a certain decision. The Founder’s Pack and Season Pass are priced at $19.99. The Season’s Pass is valid for the remainder of the Silent Hill: Ascension season, or approximately six-months worth of content.

We’ll be waiting a little while longer for developer Studio Cut to Bits’ gothic Metroidvania Venture to the Vile. Originally slated to launch on PC via Steam on May 7, the game has now been pushed a couple of weeks to May 22. The PlayStation release of Venture to the Vile is still expected later this year.

In a press release, Venture to the Vile producer Masao Kobayashi explains the decision to delay the release, stating that while Studio Cut to Bits is made up of industry veterans, this is the first time that the team has released a game as indie developers. As such, the team encountered a few hurdles leading up to the original release date.

“We all love Venture to the Vile and want to make sure we are delivering the best possible game we can for our players. For this reason, we have decided to delay our game by two weeks. I’m sorry to those who have been anticipating our game but I assure you it is going to be worth the wait.”

Venture to the Vile centres on the town of Rainybrook, where an unknown darkness is taking over, transforming anything and anyone it touches. Fortunately for you, you seem to be unaffected by this presence. However, your friend Ella is nowhere to be seen. You must brave the horrors and find her.
