Gothic Metroidvania ‘The Last Faith’ Out Now on PC, Consoles [Trailer]

Published

If you’ve got a hankering for a new Metroidvania, Kumi Souls Games’ gothic Soulslike The Last Faith is out now for you to devour. The game is out now on PC via Steam (with a 10% launch discount until November 22), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch for $27.99 USD. Often brutal, but always empowering, The Last Faith thrives on merciless and precise combat, with a huge range of melee weapons, arcane spells, and long-range firearms for you to carve out your own playstyle.

You play as Eryk, a man who awakens with no recollection of his immediate past. Eryk soon discovers that he’s in a race against time as his mind and conscience begins to deteriorate. His desire for salvation from this affliction sets him on a cursed mission that crosses paths with ancient religions and divinities. Use your extensive arsenal of weapons to bring your foes to their knees with surgical precision, and invoke the mysterious power of the Nycrux to level up your attributes and stay one step ahead.

Much like The Game Kitchen’s Blasphemous series, The Last Faith sports gorgeous hand-drawn 2D sprite art of locations ranging from dark, gnarled forests to frigid mountain peaks. And if that wasn’t enough, you’ll also be executing your defeated foes in gruesome detail.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 15 years since Tripwire Interactive graced horror fans with Killing Floor. To mark the occasion, not only has Tripwire made deep discounts for the sequel, but they’ve also dropped the first developer diary for the upcoming third entry in the series, Killing Floor 3.

Originally conceived of by a team of modders, the Killing Floor franchise has entertained (and horrified) more than 30+ million players worldwide, delivering years of guns, gore, and co-op mayhem. As part of the franchise anniversary celebrations, Killing Floor 2 will be free-to-play from May 16-20 on Steam, the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, the Xbox One and Xbox Series, and is on sale on all storefronts, including the Epic Games Store.

Fans can check the official Killing Floor social channels for specifics on these special anniversary, as well as the limited time discounts on Killing Floor 2. All progress made and rewards earned during this free weekend will be carried over to full accounts following purchase, including Perk levels and weapon unlocks.

Meanwhile, the first developer diary for Killing Floor 3 is also available, which “drills into the bloody history and legacy of the franchise, and how the studio is returning to its horror roots with the upcoming sequel.”

Killing Floor 3 is currently in development for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series. No release date has been announced as of yet.
