‘Dragon’s Dogma II’ Arrives March 22, 2024 for PC and Consoles; Pre-orders Open Now [Trailer]

Capcom has finally announced that Dragon’s Dogma II will be coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam on March 22, 2024. Pre-orders for the follow-up to the 2012 original are up now, complete with pre-order bonuses. Capcom made the announcement during the scheduled showcase event, which included new gameplay reveals with director Hideaki Itsuno and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi.

On PlayStation Blog, Itsuno stated that Dragon’s Dogma is a game that he dreamed of playing as a boy “who loved TRPG-based games and action games, and I have a special attachment to it. Dragon’s Dogma II incorporates ideas that were not technically feasible at the time we created the first game. I believe this game will let you experience the fantasy world you’ve always dreamed of, a fantasy world action simulator game, and ultimately be the ultimate Dragon’s Dogma.”

Itsuno and Hirabayashi also provided a first look at several monsters during the digital event, such as a towering bronze golem known as Talos, as well as the Dullahan and Drake enemies. Dullahan is a headless specter capable of immobilizing its target before striking, while the dragon-like Drakes are capable of breathing fire and taking flight to mix things up.

The digital event also provided a first look at the returning Warrior and Sorcerer Vocations that will be available to both the Arisen and Pawns. The Warrior specializes in direct combat, and are masters of two-handed weapons, while the Sorcerer is focused on magick disciplines.

Along with the standard version of Dragon’s Dogma II, there’s also the Deluxe Edition, which includes the “New Journey Pack”. This pack includes in-game items such as a custom Camping Kit, a Wakestone, Rift Crystals, and a Dragon’s Dogma Music and Sound collection.

If that’s not enough, the Standard and Deluxe Editions each have their own pre-order bonuses. Pre-orders of the Standard Edition will feature a bonus weapon for each of the four starting vocations, while the Deluxe Edition pre-orders also include the Ring of Assurance in-game accessory.

Endless Mode Available Now in New Update for ‘Life Eater’

Published

on

Fans of Strange Scaffold and publisher Frosty Pop’s apocalyptic Life Eater have another reason to keep coming back to the game, as the much-anticipated Endless Mode is available now. Best of all, it’s a free update!

The new endless mode gives Life Eater players an arena to determine how long they can evade capture while delaying the end of the world. Collect score points called ZEAL by building an airtight procedure around your sacrifices, investigate the lives of countless procedurally generated kidnapping targets, and survive as long as possible in your personal gauntlet of nightmares.

“We’re so excited to expand the playtime of Life Eater with a uniquely dark and intriguing systemic experience,” says Strange Scaffold founder Xalavier Nelson Jr. “You really just terrorize an entire city of people over the span of decades, now, and I can only hope that I don’t come to regret writing that sentence in a press release.”

For those not in the know, Life Eater (check out Aaron’s review here) is a horror fantasy kidnapping simulator where you play as a druid living in suburbia. You serve a dark entity by abducting and sacrificing specific but vaguely described humans every year to stop the apocalypse. Use a unique video editing-inspired interface to discover the intimate lives of your victims, one schedule block at a time. When the time is right, abduct them before authorities find out.

You can snag a copy of Life Eater on Steam.
