Content Roadmap Revealed for ‘Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord’, Alongside Developer Update [Video]

nDreams has just dropped their first developer update for Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, alongside a reveal of the game’s expanded post-launch roadmap. The updates will bring new gameplay improvements and content from the wider world of Ghostbusters (including the upcoming Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire) to VR across the coming months.

Kicking off the expanded content roadmap is a new game update this Friday. Coming off the heels of last month’s “Heist & Seek” update, this update brings the brand-new Infestation game mode that is free to all players, and sees the Ghostbusters teaming up to trap a stubborn ghostly intruder. Also coming this Friday, owners of the Full Containment Edition of the game can also claim four new characters and two new equipment skins, the latter of which can also be purchased separately.

In January, fans who have been dreaming of becoming a Ghostbuster since 1984 will have the opportunity to step into the movie’s original flight suits. Players will also come face to face with Slimer in a new game mode that brings one of the most iconic and beloved ghosts in the series to life in VR.

Meanwhile, Rise of the Ghost Lord Game Director Nathan Baseley detailed the intention to address community feedback over the course of the roadmap, including additional narrative-infused content and atmospheric changes that will bring more to the game. That “more” obviously involves Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which is set for release on March 29, 2024.

Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord is available now on the PlayStation Store and Meta Quest Store. Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is being directed by Gil Kenan (Monster House, Poltergeist), and stars Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjiani, James Acaster, and Emily Alyn Lind, alongside Bill Murray, Finn Wolfhard, Ernie Hudson, Mckenna Grace, Paul Rudd, Celeste O’Connor, Logan Kim, Annie Potts, Dan Aykroyd and Carrie Coon.

During the Day of the Devs: Summer Game Fest Edition, publisher Wired Productions and developer LKA released a three-minute developer presentation for psychological horror game When Sirens Fall Silent, offering players a deeper look into the mystery, characters, and unsettling world of the upcoming psychological thriller.

Following two creative story-based cinematic reveals (which you can watch here and here) that introduced the game’s atmosphere, themes, and central mystery, LKA Founder and Director Luca Dalcò guides viewers further into the world of the forgotten people, revealing more of what awaits players as they uncover the truth behind a series of kidnappings and murders.

From the creators of Martha is Dead, When Sirens Fall Silent casts players as Mila, a policewoman in early 1990s Rome, Italy. Haunted by a past she’s desperate to escape, Mila is thrust into a high-profile case of kidnappings and murders. As the investigation unravels, you must not only save her from herself, but also from being consumed by the violence, mystery and confusion.

Featuring a branching, multi-layered narrative dialogue system, with a huge focus on verbal and emotional interaction, investigation and subsequent choices, players will be faced with difficult real-world topics. LKA aims to “pull no punches” with its story, but also hints at a few surprises along the way.

When Sirens Fall Silent is currently in development for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.
