Holiday Horror Fun Now Available in Winter Tales 2023 Event for ‘Dying Light 2’ [Trailer]

Techland dropped details last week of their annual Winter Tales event for Dying Light 2, which is starting today for fans looking for some holiday fun. The event is also bringing with it updates to Dying Light 2, including new enemy variants, new weapons, more finishers, and PlayStation 5 cross-gen save.

Winter Tales 2023 has kicked off with “Gifts from Above”, which translates into Santa air-dropping presents for players, including some new wintry weapons. Players can take on new enemies, in Uncle Snow and Naughty Infected, which will earn you Sweets that you can exchange at Baka’s Winter Market store by the Bazaar for rewards.

Those rewards include the Winter Elf gear and outfit, the Gingerbread Infected Charm, and several seasonal-themed cosmetics. You can also snag the Dead of Winter Bow Blueprint.

This is all on top of the Event goals, which will net players even more rewards as they complete them. Also be on the lookout for the Grim Santa Bundle. Available as a blueprint or from the in-game store for 500 DL Points, the bundle features the Grim Santa Outfit, Paraglider, and the North Polearm weapon.

And as an extra treat, Techland is making the Hakon Bundle available for free during the event.

Lastly, Techland has provided a new infographic with updated in-game stats for 2023, including just how many (and what) limbs and heads players have lopped off, the number of player deaths (including those who died at night), number of arrows shot, and the most popular skin bundle for Dying Light 2.

Dying Light 2 is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The Winter Tales 2023 event in Dying Light 2 will continue until January 5, 2024.

Endless Mode Available Now in New Update for ‘Life Eater’

Published

on

Fans of Strange Scaffold and publisher Frosty Pop’s apocalyptic Life Eater have another reason to keep coming back to the game, as the much-anticipated Endless Mode is available now. Best of all, it’s a free update!

The new endless mode gives Life Eater players an arena to determine how long they can evade capture while delaying the end of the world. Collect score points called ZEAL by building an airtight procedure around your sacrifices, investigate the lives of countless procedurally generated kidnapping targets, and survive as long as possible in your personal gauntlet of nightmares.

“We’re so excited to expand the playtime of Life Eater with a uniquely dark and intriguing systemic experience,” says Strange Scaffold founder Xalavier Nelson Jr. “You really just terrorize an entire city of people over the span of decades, now, and I can only hope that I don’t come to regret writing that sentence in a press release.”

For those not in the know, Life Eater (check out Aaron’s review here) is a horror fantasy kidnapping simulator where you play as a druid living in suburbia. You serve a dark entity by abducting and sacrificing specific but vaguely described humans every year to stop the apocalypse. Use a unique video editing-inspired interface to discover the intimate lives of your victims, one schedule block at a time. When the time is right, abduct them before authorities find out.

You can snag a copy of Life Eater on Steam.
