Chapter 3 of ‘Poppy Playtime’ Launches January 30th [Trailer]

After last month’s delay for the release of Chapter 3 for Poppy Playtime, developer MOB Entertainment has announced a January 30 release of “Deep Sleep”. Currently available to wishlist on Steam, Chapter 3: Deep Sleep is being touted as “the largest and scariest game experience of the series” by the developers, complete with new levels, locations and characters, including the introduction of the chapter’s main antagonist, CatNap.

In addition to the official launch date, Mob Entertainment has debuted the final trailer for Poppy Playtime Chapter 3, giving fans their first in-game look at CatNap. The story goes that CatNap is part of the Playtime Co.’s Smiling Critters line of lovable plush toys. But somewhere along the line, something went terribly wrong, leaving CatNap loose in the abandoned factory. And he’ll stop at nothing to put you into his Deep Sleep.

“Chapter 3 is filled with so many sinister twists and turns, we can’t wait for players to experience it,” said Zach Belanger, Co-founder and CEO of Mob Entertainment. “Many questions were left unanswered in Chapter 2 and with Chapter 3 being our largest installment yet, fans can finally get answers to some of their long awaited questions. But new questions will also be raised which players may need to wait a little bit longer to have answered!”

Set inside The Dome, Chapter 3 contains five new challenges where players will be exposed to CatNap and The Smiling Critters. Players will also start to unravel the mystery about what happened to the factory before it was abandoned. Players can expect to see upgrades to items, such as the GrabPack, and new features including new hands allowing new ways to explore and a gas mask to help get through various portions of the journey.

Meanwhile, in anticipation of Chapter 3’s release, you can grab Chapter 2 of Poppy Playtime with a 50% discount now until January 29th.

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
