Playable Teaser Now Available for Tech-Noir Survival Horror Title ‘Hollowbody’

Published

on

With Chasing Static developer Headware Games releasing their psychological Survival Horror game Hollowbody later this year, it only makes sense to give prospective fans a taste of what’s on offer, right? Case in point: Headware Games has released a “playable teaser” for Hollowbody, which is available on the game’s Steam page.

The short 20-30 minute teaser for Hollowbody shows off the game’s world and core systems (exploration, puzzle solving and combat), allowing players to mess around in a curated section of the game. “I’ve been working super hard to get this to a standard where I am happy to release it publicly,” says Nath of Headware Games, who’s also doing the music for Hollowbody.

Described by Nath as a “dystopian alt-future take on Silent Hill“, Hollowbody follows Mica, an unlicensed Shipper working for a ring of black market freelancers. Mica finds herself stranded in a long abandoned British city in the exclusion zone, which is “twenty miles of death and decay sealed off by the towering, suffocating walls”. With limited resources at your disposal, Mica must push her way through the zone while solving puzzles, managing resources and fighting for her life as she tries to find a way to escape beyond the wall.

Hollowbody currently doesn’t have a release date, but is aiming for a release sometime this year.

Upcoming “Unholy Alliance” Update for ‘Cult of the Lamb’ Adds Local Co-op and More [Teaser]

Published

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
