Slasher Movie Tribute Adventure Game ‘Terror at Oakheart’ Launches February 27 on Steam

Published

on

Developer Tainted Pact and publisher Assemble Entertainment have announced that their ’80s-inspired horror adventure game Terror at Oakheart will finally arrive later this month for Steam. Previously announced for a late release last year, the game will now instead hit on February 27th. Accompanying the announcement is a brand new trailer.

Terror at Oakheart centres on the eponymous community, and follows a wide cast of characters, each of whom is destined to perish at the hands of the psychotic serial killer known as Teddy. If that wasn’t enough intrigue, Teddy is also apparently under the sway of a Lovecraftian beast.

Players will step into the shoes of Eric, Ethan, Rose, Tyler and other characters as you move through a number of sets throughout the town, such as Teddy’s house, the nearby police station, a ranger station, camp areas, and others. As you explore, you’ll investigate and uncover more about Teddy and the town of Oakheart. Of course, you’ll also watch as each one survives or falls at Teddy’s hands. Luckily, you’re able to hide from Teddy in closets and the like in order to escape.

And as always, if you’re keen to check out the game before it releases, the Steam demo that covers the first chapter of Terror at Oakheart released last year is still very much available.

Upcoming “Unholy Alliance” Update for ‘Cult of the Lamb’ Adds Local Co-op and More [Teaser]

Published

on

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
