‘The Texas Chain Saw Massacre’ – Barbara Crampton Reveals She’s Joining the Video Game!

The developers of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre had been promising a new map (“The Mill”) as well as a new family member and a new victim in the coming months, and today we’ve got some exciting news about one of those brand new characters. Horror legend Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, You’re Next, Jakob’s Wife) has revealed she’s joining the game!

“I am here to tell you that I’m in the DLC for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre game!” Crampton revealed on social media tonight, sharing a sneak peek at the character that will feature her likeness. Bloody Disgusting has learned that the character’s name is Virginia, and indeed the new character – presumably a survivor – is a dead ringer for Crampton!

Barbara Crampton is no stranger to the world of horror video games, having recently voiced a character in Back 4 Blood. But this will be the first time Crampton has made her presence known in the Texas Chain Saw Massacre franchise, which is extremely cool for fans.

Keep your eyes locked on the game’s official social channels for more…

Also headed into The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game very soon? A new Execution Pack and Weapon Skins, plus Shirtless Johnny and Bride Sissy, all arriving February 22.

The game features classic villains from the movies as well as new family members, and the events of the Chain Saw game take place *before* Tobe Hooper’s original classic.

Brandon Trush writes in his review for BD, “asymmetrical horror evolves to fit a terror classic.”

Upcoming “Unholy Alliance” Update for ‘Cult of the Lamb’ Adds Local Co-op and More [Teaser]

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
