From Software and Bandai Namco have finally pulled back the curtain on “Shadow of the Erdtree”, the highly-anticipated Elden Ring DLC that was initially announced last year. The DLC will arrive on June 21 for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and the Xbox Series.

The “Shadow of the Erdtree” expansion will feature a brand-new story set in the Land of Shadow, which will include “mystery, perilous dungeons, and new enemies, weapons and equipment.”

In addition, Bandai Namco is marking the release with several new editions and merchandise for Elden Ring. Players will have multiple Base and Premium editions to choose from:

  • “Shadow of the Erdtree” Expansion – The standard version of the expansion, available digitally on all platforms.
  • Elden Ring: “Shadow of the Erdtree” Edition – Special packaged bundle including the physical Elden Ring base game and a digital copy of the “Shadow of the Erdtree” expansion available only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
  • Premium Bundle – Includes the “Shadow of the Erdtree” expansion, and comes with digital art book and digital soundtrack bonus content for the expansion. Available digitally on all platforms.
  • Deluxe Edition – Includes the Elden Ring base game, the “Shadow of the Erdtree” expansion, digital art books and digital soundtracks for both the base game and the expansion. Available digitally on all platforms.
  • Elden Ring: “Shadow of the Erdtree” Collector’s Edition – Includes a single voucher code for your preferred platform for the “Shadow of the Erdtree” expansion, an 18-inch statue of “Messmer the Impaler,” a 40-page physical art book, and digital soundtrack. This will be exclusive to the Bandai Namco Entertainment Store (shipping is restricted to the United States and Canada).

If that’s not enough, Bandai Namco will also be offering pre-order bonus exclusive to their store in the form of the Helmet of Messmer the Impaler. This exclusive item includes “a one-of-a-kind display piece made for the most discerning, distinguished, and dripped out Tarnished.” This replica helmet of Messmer the Impaler will come with a numbered certificate of authenticity, and is available only while supplies last and will ship beginning June 28 (shipping is restricted to the United States and Canada). This is a collectible item only and does not include any game content.

Survios Announces VR Title ‘Alien: Rogue Incursion’, Coming This Year [Trailer]

Remember back in 2022 when developer Survios had announced that they were teaming up with 20th Century Games to develop a new Alien title? Well seeing as it’s Alien Day, Survios has announced their brand-new VR title, Alien: Rogue Incursion. Coming “Holiday 2024” to the PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, and Quest 3, Rogue Incursion will feature an original story that “fully surrounds players within the terrors of the Alien universe”.

Details on the game are light at the moment, but the official site describes the upcoming title as being “designed by Alien fans for Alien fans”, with Survios aiming to craft a “technically advanced, and frightfully immersive Alien virtual reality game.”

Seeing as Alien: Isolation never got official VR support when it was released, this is obviously a welcome announcement. In the meantime, if you’re keen to experience an Alien game in VR, you can always check out the fan-made mod for Alien: Isolation by Nibre_, which allows both the Steam and Epic Games Store version of Alien: Isolation to be played using the Oculus.

And speaking of Alien: Isolation, as you might expect, it’s got a hefty 80% discount going on at the moment on Steam until May 1. So if you still haven’t grabbed it after all these years, this is as good a time as any.
