It’s been a long time coming, but get ready to save humanity in Terminator: Dark Fate — Defiance, which is out now on Steam. Slitherine’s real-time strategy game based on the Terminator license is available with a 10% discount from now until February 28.

Set in the Terminator: Dark Fate cinematic universe, Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance sees surviving humans fight for their existence against the all-powerful synthetic intelligent machine network known as Legion. However, the greatest threat may not come from the ravaging machines, but from bands of other human survivors.

Featuring complex tactical battles across a single-player multiple-choice campaign and online multiplayer battles, players must choose from one of three distinct factions: Founders, Resistance, or Legion. Your decisions will resonate in multiple ways as as you must decide between gaining intel, volunteers, or potential open conflict with other human survivors.

Terminator: Dark Fate – Defiance offers a gamut of strategy and tactical options, including branching dialogue, events, and mission objectives, as well as a strategic army management screen where players can upgrade character skills, weapons, and vehicles, plus unit customization. Future War will be featured in full, from plasma cannons, drones, guerilla warfare, and the careful gathering of limited resources and weapons. Defiance‘s dynamic physics-based battlefields and realistic damage models further enhance the real-time tactical feel.

The game also features four skirmish modes, including Assault mode, which see players choose the Founders or Legion factions and either attack or defend an Underground base, and Domination mode, which allows all factions to be played with different reinforcement and gameplay rules. There are also four playable maps in multiplayer mode, allowing up to players to duke it out in 1vs1 and 2vs2 games.

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
