S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fans got a treat with the announcement that GSC Game World has launched the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Legends of the Zone Trilogy for Xbox One, Xbox Series and PlayStation 4. Available now, the compilation was revealed earlier by Gematsu, who reported that the collection is up for pre-order in Japan for the PlayStation 4.

Revealed during the Xbox Partner Preview yesterday and available on the Microsoft Store for $39.99, the Legends of the Zone Trilogy includes all three games that make up the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Trilogy: Shadow of Chernobyl, Clear Sky, and Call of Pripyat. Per Xbox Wire, Microsoft states that “every element from the original games has been maintained and faithfully ported to console thanks to the hard work of GSC Game World and their partners at Mataboo.”

Being that none of these games have appeared on console before, the developer had to make the obvious necessary changes and tweaks to ensure a smooth transition. “S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has been a PC franchise for a long time, so the key priorities were concentrated around adapting the experience for consoles as a whole (including, but not limited to, native controller support for console interfaces),” explains GSC Game World PR Specialist Zakhar Bocharov. “We created everything from scratch, ensuring that the game was both easy to control and comfortable to play.

The version available now Xbox One and Xbox Series is as close to the original version of the game’s PC version. Later this year, GSC Game World will release a patch for Xbox Series version that will bring additional graphical enhancements and other features.

This, of course, is all in preparation for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which will be releasing on PC and the Xbox Series on September 5.

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
