‘Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game’ – New Video Walks You Through How the Gameplay Works

Published

From Teravision Games and Illfonic, Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game will launch on June 4, and a new video from IGN today walks you through the gameplay.

This particular video is focused on the gameplay as a human survivor – you can play as either a Klown or a Survivor – detailing the various ways you can escape and survive.

From unlocking doors to smashing down barriers, ripping up cotton candy blockages, and even fueling up a boat, the game will feature multiple ways to survive your stay in Crescent Cove. As the video points out, there’s even a fun bit where the Terenzi Brothers from the movie show up in their ice cream truck, creating one final path to freedom for surviving players.

At the end of each match, the Klowns will unleash “Klownpocalypse,” which will detonate and kill any humans who have not yet escaped. Check out IGN’s exclusive video to learn more.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game can be pre-ordered right now from the STEAM StorePlayStation Store & Xbox Marketplace. The game has full crossplay support.

The game is coming along 36 years after creators the Chiodo Bros. released the cult classic ’80s movie, and the good news here is that the Chiodos are heavily involved in the game.

Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game is a 3v7 asymmetrical multiplayer horror game based on the cult horror classic film. When murderous alien Klowns come to feed on the quiet town of Crescent Cove, the locals must work together to fight back and survive the invasion.

Players can team up as either Klowns or humans, choosing from a variety of character classes, to explore an expansive, ever-changing map with creepy surprises waiting around every corner.

  • Take on the role of the iconic Killer Klowns – cooperate in a team of three players, utilize unworldly abilities, hunt humans with zany weapons, and plan your alien invasion to harvest the population of Crescent Cove successfully.
  • Fight back as a team of seven brave citizens of Crescent Cove – explore the city for valuable loot and weapons, avoid getting captured by Klowns, and try to survive the alien invasion.

Developed by Teravision Games and Illfonic, this playfully panic-inducing action experience faithfully recreates the atmosphere of the iconic movie and aims to stir up the asymmetrical multiplayer horror genre in multiple ways. The game is being developed as a live-service title, with multiple content updates planned for post-launch.

Survios Announces VR Title ‘Alien: Rogue Incursion’, Coming This Year [Trailer]

Remember back in 2022 when developer Survios had announced that they were teaming up with 20th Century Games to develop a new Alien title? Well seeing as it’s Alien Day, Survios has announced their brand-new VR title, Alien: Rogue Incursion. Coming “Holiday 2024” to the PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, and Quest 3, Rogue Incursion will feature an original story that “fully surrounds players within the terrors of the Alien universe”.

Details on the game are light at the moment, but the official site describes the upcoming title as being “designed by Alien fans for Alien fans”, with Survios aiming to craft a “technically advanced, and frightfully immersive Alien virtual reality game.”

Seeing as Alien: Isolation never got official VR support when it was released, this is obviously a welcome announcement. In the meantime, if you’re keen to experience an Alien game in VR, you can always check out the fan-made mod for Alien: Isolation by Nibre_, which allows both the Steam and Epic Games Store version of Alien: Isolation to be played using the Oculus.

And speaking of Alien: Isolation, as you might expect, it’s got a hefty 80% discount going on at the moment on Steam until May 1. So if you still haven’t grabbed it after all these years, this is as good a time as any.
