‘Castlevania’ Comes to ‘V Rising’ on May 8th With ‘Legacy of Castlevania’ Crossover! [Trailer]

Much like what happened with Dead Cells, at some point, you knew this was coming. Stunlock Studios has teamed up with Konami to bring the latter’s legendary Castlevania series to the former’s V Rising in an epic crossover with Legacy of Castlevania. The crossover will coincide with V Rising exiting Early Access on Steam on May 8th.

Legacy of Castlevania will see famed vampire hunter Simon Belmont infiltrate V Rising to challenge all of Vampire kind. Wielding his legendary Vampire Killer whip and an arsenal of holy weaponry, no night stalker is safe from Simon’s crusade through Vardoran. Defeat him and unlock the secrets of the Vampire Killer, offering you new combat abilities.

While Legacy of Castlevania, including Simon Belmont and the new whip weapon, will come as free content, those of you who want that something extra will be able to purchase the Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack cosmetic DLC, allowing players to construct their own castles inspired by Castlevania’s classic gothic aesthetic. Decorate your opulent lair, enjoy character customization options inspired by classic Castlevania characters, and even spread terror with your spooky skeletal mount. To top it all off, you can even set the tone in your castle with two classic Castlevania themes reimagined by V Rising composer Aleksandria Migova.

“We’re all big fans of Castlevania, so being able to actually create original Castlevania content in our game is a dream come true,” said Rickard Frisegård, CEO of Stunlock Studios. “I want to express a heartfelt thank you to our friends at Konami for the chance to bring Castlevania to the V Rising universe. This has been an opportunity for us to channel our love and effort for their games into this collaboration, and we look forward to you being able to experience it for yourself on May 8th!”

In addition to the Steam release, V Rising will also be heading to the PlayStation 5 later this year. And yes, the Legacy of Castlevania DLC will be available on there, as well!

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
