Today is a big day for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game, as Gun Interactive has brought a new Map (“The Mill”) and a new Survivor (“Virginia”) into the slasher madness.

The team explains, “Today, Virginia joins the ranks of the Victims, a character voiced by and based on the likeness of the horror queen herself, Barbara Crampton.

“And The Mill, the new multi-level, high-intensity map, is now available. Between Virginia’s unique medicinal abilities and the extreme verticality of The Mill, this latest DLC drop is the biggest shake up to the gameplay of Texas since launch!

Additionally, “PC players can take advantage of the Free Weekend, running from today, 3/28/24 at 1PM EDT through 4/1/24 at 1 PM EDT. For first time buyers, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will be at a 50% discount and Family character Nancy will be FREE with purchase.

“For players who already own the game, Nancy will be on sale for 50% off. This deal will run from today, March 28th until Thursday, April 4th.”

Here’s a little bit more about Virginia, who can be yours for $9.99…

“Players will be able to use her special ability Boon for a fighting chance to survive against The Slaughter Family. Boon will let players contaminate blood buckets with a special mixture Virginia can make at the crafting tables found across each map. This substance can be thrown at a Family member to make them temporarily blinded. With a tragic backstory of leaving her life as a nurse to find her missing son Jesse, Virginia comes across The Slaughter Family. Having been a nurse in the past, her ability offers a new take on Victim gameplay.”

And a bit more about the FREE new map, “The Mill”…

“Alongside Virginia, all players will be able to enjoy the new free map, The Mill. This map plays unlike any other, with more verticality introduced where players will be able to traverse more than three floors. A Ghost Town, a dry riverbed, and a few other locations on this map will give players a fresh new experience to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.”

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is available on Playstation®4, Playstation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, as well as Game Pass on Xbox and PC.

Survios Announces VR Title ‘Alien: Rogue Incursion’, Coming This Year [Trailer]

Remember back in 2022 when developer Survios had announced that they were teaming up with 20th Century Games to develop a new Alien title? Well seeing as it’s Alien Day, Survios has announced their brand-new VR title, Alien: Rogue Incursion. Coming “Holiday 2024” to the PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, and Quest 3, Rogue Incursion will feature an original story that “fully surrounds players within the terrors of the Alien universe”.

Details on the game are light at the moment, but the official site describes the upcoming title as being “designed by Alien fans for Alien fans”, with Survios aiming to craft a “technically advanced, and frightfully immersive Alien virtual reality game.”

Seeing as Alien: Isolation never got official VR support when it was released, this is obviously a welcome announcement. In the meantime, if you’re keen to experience an Alien game in VR, you can always check out the fan-made mod for Alien: Isolation by Nibre_, which allows both the Steam and Epic Games Store version of Alien: Isolation to be played using the Oculus.

And speaking of Alien: Isolation, as you might expect, it’s got a hefty 80% discount going on at the moment on Steam until May 1. So if you still haven’t grabbed it after all these years, this is as good a time as any.
