Battle Simon Belmont in New ‘Legacy of Castlevania’ Gameplay Trailer for ‘V Rising’ [Watch]

Itching to see just what Stunlock Studios and Konami have in store next month when Legacy of Castlevania drops for V Rising? Stunlock has released a new gameplay trailer for the epic crossover, showcasing not only the new aesthetics available for your castle and vampiric persona, but also Simon Belmont in action to the sounds of classic Castlevania themes.

The free Legacy of Castlevania crossover content brings legendary vampire hunter Simon Belmont and his arsenal of weapons to V Rising to challenge you and all vampires. Facing him won’t be easy, but if you persevere and defeat Simon, you’ll gain the iconic Vampire Killer whip, offering you new combat abilities.

That’s on top of the previously-mentioned additions to your castle customizations with the Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack, which you’ll be able to purchase for $19.99 USD. The DLC allows players to construct their own castles inspired by Castlevania’s classic gothic aesthetic, as well as giving your vampire some cool aesthetics of their own. You’ll be able to traverse the open world with the Soul of the Wolf, don Alucard’s iconic outfit, embody the prodigal Maria Renard to move unnoticed among the realms of man, or spring through the air as a Flea Man. It’s all topped off with two classic Castlevania themes  reimagined by V Rising composer Aleksandria Migovato: “Theme of Simon Belmont” and “Bloody Tears”.

You can check out more about the Premium Pack from Stunlock’s blog post.

The release of the Legacy of Castlevania crossover will coincide with V Rising exiting Early Access on Steam on May 8th. A PlayStation 5 version will also be released later this year.

Cult of the Lamb players will be getting more free goodies later this summer with the Unholy Alliance update. Coming August 12, the update introduces a brand new playable character in the Goat, which coincides with the game allowing local co-op.

With the Unholy Alliance update, the entire Cult of the Lamb campaign will be playable in local co-op. Players will also be able to enjoy special 2-player versions of existing mini-games, such as Fishing and Knucklebones, as well as choose from a selection of weapons, tarot cards, curses, and corrupted relics as your cooperative crusades progress.

The Lamb and Goat can also swap weapons, deal extra damage when fighting back to back, and even deliver a critical hit when their attacks are in sync. Good news for those who prefer to stay alone in their corner: they will be able to benefit from various new powers.

In addition to the addition of cooperative play, the Unholy Alliance expansion adds several tarot cards, relics, buildings, fleeces, character traits and quests, as well as the addition of new secrets to discover.

More information on the update will be released as the launch date creeps closer. Cult of The Lamb is available now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch.
